I'd have to correct you there. NAACP is a special interest group devoted to a minority. The same is true with ppl of Jewish, Arabic, Muslim, and Asian descent or religion. And the government, Democrats mostly, listen to them and try and appease them to get votes. So does big business. Hollywood changed the bad guys in the Sum of All Fears from Muslim fundamentalist to Neo Nazis because, even before 9/11, the Arab Anti-defamation league said that it promoted the stereotype of the Arab terrorist.
Sorry, I phrased it poorly. The lobby groups with clout are industry groups, because they generate large sums of money from commerce. Minority lobby groups don't have the same clout because they don't have the same cash.
I saw the footage of that kid in the US getting smacked out by the cop. Have things become better since Rodney King?
