I'm fundamentally against the death penalty (which I think puts the government on the same level as a murderer) and gun ownership (its a cultural difference, I think - Australians paid a special tax to their conservative government to get rid of guns about 5 years ago).
Having said that, I have no compassion for child molestors. Its a disease of the mind. If someone can't be treated for it, they should be put in a place where they can do no harm to children, ever.
For those of you with a vindictive streak, you should know that child molestors receive "special treatment" in prisons. Fellow inmates tend to extract brutal justice.
