Pasta is a complex carbohydrate, Rob. Don't eat it after 3pm and you'll lose weight. Otherwise, it sits in your stomach overnight and gets converted to fat. If you have to eat carbs at night, eat rice - simple carb, and its easy to cook. Otherwise, cook a huge steak (little bit of olive oil) and eat it with salad (if you have to have dressing, mix garlic lemon juice and olive oil). Olive oil is still fattening, but at least it has very low cholestrol.

I've heard yoga is good for weight loss, but don't see how that would work since it's stretching, unless I'm just mistaken.

Rollerblading is good for calves (I used to blade for hours along the Swan River in Perth). For thigh toning you need to jog (no less than 20 minutes, since you only lose weight after your body switches from anaerobic to aerobic).

Yoga is about stretching muscles and holding them for a burn. The burn in your muscles also burns calories, and if you're suffering from water retention, it makes you sweat like a pig.

I actually didn't realise I knew this much stuff until now when I've "vocalised" it. I was a gym junkie until my daughter was born: guess some of the rationale sunk in.
