I just knew you were gonna say something like that... The "Dark Ages" thing is just an analogy -- don't take it so literally.

Here's a rule of thumb: Basically, the more complex a man-made mechanism is, the more likely it is that it won't work in Templar's immediate vicinity when his sword is glowing green.

Give me a specific object if you're still wondering, and I can tell you right off whether it works or not. And if you're worried about Caliburn's effect on Adem Different, well, since Adem uses alien tech maybe the same effect doesn't occur with it as with human tech. I dunno.
