And then they stopped, and there was silence.'{paraphrased} I'm not sure if you meant that to be funny, but, it came off like an Adam's line. Hilarious!

As for the leadership-thing that you brought up in your post, I don't see why Danny can't be leader, retaining Grimm as field leader, and Phil as field intelligence-op.
And, while I'm thinking about it, why is it that Vanguard always goes into a mission as a whole unit? Why not send Grissom (back in the day, of course), or Phil out first for intelligence gathering and recon? I think of all the characters presented in the team so far, Phil remains a key specimen of potential when it comes to having an undercover-op. The whole 'unknown' factor of him, plus his telepathy, means that Phil can look like anyone he wanted to, and, thus, go undercover so much easier. Adem, with his nanites, could also be used for intelligence gathering, or, detective work.
Just some random thoughts, mind you.
