I own 74 Archives, 6 Spirit Archives, The Tor Books, The Thunder Agents Archives and all the Marvel masterworks. I'm not saying that to inflate my geekiness only to say that it is an addiction and beware.
My own personal favorites are:
Supergirl 1 and 2
Wonder Woman 1 through 3
Hawkman 1
Atom 1 and 2
Aquaman 1
Teen Titans 1
Doom Patrol 1
Flash 1 through 3
Green Lantern 1-4
Enemy Ace 1
Sgt Rock 1 and 2
Legion 1 through 5
also Thunder Agents 1 and 2
The Spirit 1-6
I recommend....
Hawkman 1
Doom Patrol 1
Enemy Ace 1
Wonder Woman 1
The Spirit 1 and 2
Thunder Agents 1 and 2
Shazam Archives are also excellent
You already know about Supergirl and Plas....
I'm not a big fan of the early Batman stuff, but the Neal Adams Batman, GA/GL, and deadman collections are all excellent..but unfortunatley expensive...I did get my deadman at overstock.com for 45 bucks though...
I imagine Silver Age Superman Archives will come out first and then probably Lois Lane shortly after that. I have harrassed Bob Greenberger and Dale Crain for the past couple years for Lois Lane Archives 1 and Adam Strange archives 1....they have collapsed under the pressure and Adam Strange archives arrive in February. Without seeing it I can recommend Adam Strange archives for the fabulous stories and astounding art of Infantino inked by Anderson and Anderson himself.
Look for Lois Archives no earlier than late 2004, but being the most popular comic series of the 60's based on circulation numbers and a fan favorite it will be out shortly.....it also does well in archive polls which Dc does pay attention to...
Also check out Overstock.com because quite frankly they have a great business and sell archives for under 30 bucks most of the time.talesofwonder.com is also a great place as they have a complete selection at 35 bucks each..both are very quick as well...
