Pig Iron said: I was amzingly surprised. The art is amazing. the story is compelling. Sometimes humorous..some times very adult. the dialogue is good. There is some strong racial stereotyping in Ebony(spirit's exclusive cab driver).Considering it was done in 1940 it was very ahead of it's time..yet it was also very much in it's time (as the stereotyping and other aspects in the story will display).
You basically get a good, clean rock-em-sock-em pulp story that goes full throttle.I recommend it more than just about any other Golden Age book....
Cool. I thought about getting it for Christmas but I went with Sandman Dust Covers instead. Maybe for my birthday. I have a bunch of black and white Spirit reprint and I love em, but they're all from after the war.
