Thanks, Gooz!
OK, someone check over the Roll Call that I put in my post. I purposely left Priest out, as I think (but can't remember) that he was injured/almost died and won't be in this story anyway, since Gooz is using Shift. Though by the same token I probably should have left Leslie Kline off the list as well.

Actually, Priest will be my only member on Vanguard in this story. Sam has never been a aprt of "Vanguard," nor will he be (not for now/this story at aleast). I'm using this story to show who will stay and who will go so to speak, so I hope others don't mind my using both Priest and Sam.

Ah, OK, I see what I did. I didn't see where it said you were going to quit AFTER the next mission. I just thought you weren't going to be around after the Christmas Special was over. Anyway, I fixed it. I dunno, Gooz -- that's two characters who will be involved in the action of the story, and they're both good guys, so it's breaking that #1 rule despite the fact that one of them is a former member of the team rather than an active member. Hmm... Anyway, I took Sam off the list (since he's not a Vanguardian as you pointed out) and put Priest back on the list until everyone else has had a chance to offer his/her opinion.

I think it should be allowed, as, like Gooz pointed out, Sam is not a member of Vanguard as of now, and the purpose of the story is to show who will stay and who will go away.
That also means, obviously, that one day you will be allowed to have both Axel and Mason in a story together, if and when you will decide to switch their status.
And I did the same in issue 12, where I had both Nadia and Euro, being Nadia a guest star in that moment.
About Leslie and Phil, I have no problem in having them used (one at a time) as main characters for Sammitch in different stories, but still I would prefer to see stated that one is an official member, and one just an associated employed, like Grissom is. But that's just to show that the line-up has just one character per writer, just that.

Good points all, especially the last one, which is why I haven't put Leslie on the Roll Call in the story. She's never actually operated as a member of the team yet (separately from Phil, I mean), and she's never really joined it as a member, so she's not a member nor really an independent character being Phil's girlfriend. More like Shirley with a gun. She'll continue to be so until Captain Sammitch writes her as an independent character rather than Phil Smith's "Lois Lane" or "Catwoman," which is up to him.

Good setting, Gooz. This is the medieval story I was aching for long. Too bad some heroes are technology based. Notwedge, could you switch Drake from using an hoverchair to a flying carpet?

Thanks, Grimm. By the way, I made a long post about things involving Vanguard and its future, but are not directly related to the story. By the rules, being it posted at the beginning and not during the action, it should be acceptable. But if you all feel it ruins the flows of the story, I have no problem to retire it, and post it in my solo thread. Let me know.

Oh yeah guys, this story is free reign. I have no plans for it, nor do I even know which of my characters will be around at the end.
Feel free to introduce new villains and heros in the other world (if we even go into the other world). I only ask two things:
1) Please don't make Vanguard counter parts in the other world. Let's keep it totally seperate. So, I don't wanna see this world's Turner or this world's Sam (just using my characters as an example).
2) Please follow what has been said. I.E. that one of the villains is a wizard (doesn't have to be the main villain) and they the main villain has serpent like eyes and once said "One True Order."
But totally feel free to give Sam memories of the world and introduce knights and human leaders and the such. So, just to repeat, I HAVE NO PLANS. So feel free to do what ever (except like aways, no changing the gender of any of my characters). Thank you, that is all.

Sounds fair to me.
I really don't know about this story, guys. I know I said I was done writing Phil out of the team's actions so I could explore my own little subplots, but in this case my subplots aren't involved at all.
I have been working on a composition assignment since August. It's nine minutes long for a fifty-piece orchestra. I have three weeks to edit the score, create a condensed score, map parts, edit the parts, and submit the completed work (along with program notes and conductor's notes) to the music department. Obviously, this is a massive undertaking.
What I don't know is if this story, traveling to another world, will have farther-reaching implications - specifically, if this is the 'trapped off Earth' extended story idea we threw around in the last talk thread. If it is, that means I'll have to give a lot of time to the boards that I really ought to be spending with my score. Even if it's not, I just don't know how much time will be demanded of me in this story, and I don't want to half-write anything.
What I need to know is how much will be demanded of my characters and of me in this story. I need to know whether it's feasible to send Phil with the team into Shift's other world, or whether I should leave all my characters home for this one. I want to participate, but not at the expense of too much critical time. Please let me know ASAP what I should do, then I'll noodle putting my character on this mission. Thanks!

Sammitch, do what you think you gotta do. School needs to come before this. Only devote time if to the stories if you think you have it to spare.

Phil, if you have not need of advancing your subplot NOW, and can let it for later, I think Phil could go trough the story safely in the hands of all the writers, even if you have not much time to spare. After all, Tayden, Velo, TC lived their life in vanguard exclusively written by other than their posters. Drax too, for some time, and now he is happily back in the hands of his writer.
The story could last months. If you don't have Phil coming, maybe one month from now we'll still be in the middle of the adventure, and you will have time but not your guy to play.

Okay, there he is. Don't be afraid to write him. His powers are very simple and his personality hasn't really been defined yet. I was hoping that process could be started through the interaction with other characters, wether it's written by me or someone else. Really, I don't think anything you can add to the character could be hurtful if you think it's a good idea. You can make him hit on your character if you want.

Prometheus said: Phil: Ummm....why not just write Phil as going with the Vanguardians. Then, concentrate on your schoolwork, and have faith in us to take your character along for the ride. I mean, it's not like you HAVE to be here every single post to coordinate Phil's use. I usuallly just leave Ozzy in everyone's hands until I find that I want to write something. As for the 'behind-the-scenes/personal-subplots' for the Smith character, well, that's what Solo threads are for.
In that case, feel free to enter him yourself, Pro. I'd like to see how you'd do it. Or Grimm or Gooz or Danny or TTT could do it, for that matter. Surprise me - generally you guys manage to write him in character anyway. I'll read along and jump in when I get the chance. Should be soon - I've got my own little group of 'production assistants' to help with my score. But yeah, Phil can go, Leslie will stay behind in a support function (aiding Quantos' research on Phil and/or assisting Grissom with communications and such), so write that and I'll probably enjoy reading it later. Thanks!

John Belushi was a comic genius.
But to answer your questions: Yeah, I framed him. I just did it because I could. I'm evil that way.
BTW, this was the first time ever that I've attempted to write Adem Different. I'm hoping to do a lot of writing of other characters in this story, as we need to show the team actually working AS A TEAM, and this story could be a good vehicle for that. What we usually end up doing with our characters is separating them from the rest of the team or having them fight one villain one-on-one as if the rest of the team is nowhere around. Let's see the Vanguardians combining their powers together to do the best they can, whatever that may be.

Excellent... I should warn you, though, that Mason Templar is a male chauvinist and though he will be very friendly towards Banshee in ordinary places, he will also be fairly protective of her, and in times of battle he'll say things like, "This is no place for a lass!" He's very old-fashioned that way.
BTW, Grimm, that was a good little "interlude" there. It really helped to set the stage for what the Vanguardians will find upon the World of Darkness/Darkworld. Short but to the point.

Hmmm... would the team accept such a possible security risk?
(We already know that the answer is "YES" since it's been done before, but I wonder...)

I do like the character's powers, though. Immediately reminds me of Major Disaster. I hope to see his characterisation fleshed out by yourself, though. Is he a militaristic-minded person who is very self-disciplined and usually on the serious side? Or is he somewhat laid back with a sense of humour? Anything would help. Which country is he from, by the way?
