BTW, you anticipated something I was thinking of doing. Later on I'm planning on showing Erasmus catching and eating his prey (which, if he was a normal sized pigeon-hawk would be small rodents). At a size like this, he has to subsist on animals the size of dogs or as large as cattle in order to keep from starving. He won't eat people, though -- it's not that he doesn't find them tasty, it's just that he's trained not to.
