Hey, that was my idea!

I was going to find a bunch of "tastefully nude" pics to download from various Playboy newsgroups which would match as closely as possible the physical descriptions/personalities of the Women of Vanguard, and maybe put something through the magic of PhotoShop in the picture which identifies them a bit more closely with the character. I'd have one for each month, but it looks like we're not quite up to 12 yet (and I'm NOT adding Kit's daughters, since they're still little kids, and we're not perverts like Michael Jackson, I hope). So far we've got 10:

Brianna
Leslie
Ameristar
Crasher
Nuriko
Miss X
Charley
Shirley
Sonja
Drag Racer

Just need two more. If we're really desperate, I could use Trinity, the "Triplicate Girl"-like character only seen once, in issue #14, but she never really met Vanguard yet, nor has Dr. Quantos' daughter Helen McKenzie, a brainy redhead. Who else could be added? They have to have appeared already as of the end of 2003, though, and made an impression.

Does the fact that my story-posts have recently been inspired by my bowel-movements have any bearing on the question?

There is Rose Biggles, that was the girl rescued by the Vanguardians in issue 6 (their very first payed mission), and now part of the Strikeforce as the Zatanna rip-off character.

Naecken now is a chick, too.

How about Women of the Hero Revolution Universe then? Expands on it a bit and could get us to twelve.

Oooooooh... good suggestion, especially the second one. It will be cool to have an "exotic"-looking woman in there, too. And they're both (very) loosely associated with Vanguard already, so they could work. I think that's 12.

If I ever end up doing this, like I did the "covers" of the TOMB and Hero Revolution stories a while back, I think I'll post them in the Women forum so everyone can have a look at them there. I might even go so far as to create a downloadable PDF file so that everyone can download and print their own calendar. Any suggestions on which month each individual woman should be placed on?

(BTW, according to the line under my avatar, I smell pretty... oh so pretty.)

BTW, the story is getting fairly exciting now -- I really have no idea what's going to happen next. I will probably have some time to post something tomorrow or at least on the weekend, but I don't think I can follow up on Doc's post without disappointing everyone; I'm liable to do something that will destroy all the dramatic tension built up in the story so far and make it uninteresting. I'd like to see this story become even more suspenseful than it is, put the Vanguardians into more of a desperate situation, even, if that's possible. Really up the ante... That said, I'll probably leave it to someone else to begin.

I followed up on Doc's post, trying to incorporate hints from CJ and what (or maybe not) could have been in TTT's mind.

Maybe my post could lead to confusion, so, to be straight: I have just put Bree, Ed and Erasmus in the fight, along the others. They are in the arena and fight the monster, they are not starting a revolt in the castle.

About the calendar, I vote for Naecken in Aprilil/May... she is now a very springtime character, with her new powers. And Nuriko I would picture her in December, surrounded by a japanese garden under snow.

For Nadia, I would suggest to look for pictures of Megan Gale, an Australian chick that is making a lot of money in Italian advertising for cellulars; or, if you want to be more literal to her origins, look for Alena Seredova, that is Russian... but lack the exotic eyes of Megan.

Drag Racer in April. What better way to say "April Fool!" then by having a man in a calendar comprised of women?

I'd also suggest Charley appear in the autumnal months.

Gentlemen and lady, I would like to say a few words.... (Heh! A "few" words.....riiiight.... )

(1) I think we are running around in circles having Vanguard dominate every fight, and always win. And, while the amount of creativity has been at an all-time high, I am simply becoming bored with one fight after another. I doubt I am in the minority here. If a threat is introduced in one post, don't come along and tie it up the very next post, using your own character as the 'hero'. That's just bad form, and done too often, can become ridiculous. Allow our 'heroes' to be injured, or defeated. It doesn't take anything away from the character to get his/her ass kicked every-so-often, you know. I've made it a career with my characters (except Turkish, of course). Just an opinion.

(2) As I started it with one, small joke, I have decided that I have the authority to say this: No. More. Shit. No more. None. This story has had more feces than any human has a right to endure, and, by gob, the joke's dead. Please, no more shit.

(3) Is this story to lead into the "Lost" serial? If so, I ask for the last (or, as I think Gooz might have requested it), the next to last post in the story to set up for the next one. Any problems?

(4) Let's shake this thing up. Let's free our minds from this 'Lord of the Army of Darkness'-click that we've all fallen into. This is a brand new dimension, full of wonder and fresh ideals. Let's play, and not run down the normal paths that we are so used to.

(5) I would ask that everyone try something for me. When you post, take a shot at this concept (I've already spoken to Phil about this idea) : Pick a Vanguardian that is not your own character, and write him/her in a post. Make it fun. Keep it real. And, delve into your own personal take on the character you choose. The next post you write, write it about your character. Then, the next post, choose a different character from the one you chose last time. I think this will go a long way in helping us to understand each others characters, and will cut down on the personally-centric posts that usually alienate everyone except the person writing it. Just an idea.

(6) Euro, your little midget pervert is dead. That guy just creeps me out. Do you have "Lucky Charms" cereal over there? He reminds me of an Italian Leprachaun (sp?). I'm going to kill him.....

Other than that, I think this has been one of the more fun, creative stories we've done. So, get out there and show me something.

Yeah, all the plot reversals and inversions have really killed my enthusiam for this story. I want to post something, but I just don't feel it. I'm not excited about this story at all.

Also, it really bugs me when something is introduced and then done away with in one post by one character. Why not carry on something for a few posts, showing the group working together to solve their problems, rather than having one character do everything? I would've loved to see the Vanguardians escape from their imprisonment by working together as a team, for instance. Let's see them work together in the arena.

I know all this probably sounds funny from the guy who separated his character out early on, but that wasn't intended to be a long running thing, nor was it meant to keep him away from the group for an extended period, as it's become due to the plots. Like I said, I've just lost my enthusiam for it right now.

Okay, I just printed everything I missed (32 pages in font 8!!!) and I'll probably post tomorrow. I hope my guy didn't give you too much trouble. I would have prefrerred to give all explanations in the story before leaving, but I didn't see an opening for that and things seemed to be flowing well.

(3) If the 'Lost Serial' is more the one story, can I squeeze one in before that?

I'm getting tired of the fights, too. Let's do the thing with the team splitting up and scattering over the world to gather support for the revolution.

For instance, I'd like to send Mason Templar to Jotunheim, the land of the giants, in the north, with one or two other characters.

I would feel cheated if the story ended already.

Pro, it IS an Italian leprechaun (real, i didn't make it up for this story). If you want to kill him, do that. It has fulfilled his purpose, by now.

About the fights, I concord with you.

Brianna did a perfect opening to make things different (them possibly allying with Lord Graveyard, finally stopping the endless runaway), yet in the next post they find themselves like gladiators in an arena.

The story is very cool, the best since a long time, yet there is a scarce attention to the previous posts that baffles me.

Anyway, I think the endless battles are fun, but there is also necessity to make a little more expalining of the situation on that planet.

In any case, Pro, everyone here has the power to change direction to the story, so, even if talking is a necessity, you can also simply wrtie a change of direction (by the way, I have not yet the lasts posts, so maybe you have done it).

Okay. I have decided to take the story out of the arena. Get away from the fighting, the Red Archers, and the undead knights for awhile. I've also given Vanguard an ally (old-timers will recognize him.....especially NotWedge... ), and a chance to get their shit together.

So, everyone take a few posts to get healed, and get a plan before we move on to something else, you know?

I have no plans for where Vanguard is, except I would imagine sanctuary of a type, and a place to call their base of operations.

Other than that, go nuts.

Ok, OK, I know that post was Drake-centric, but it's primary purpose was to show something about Ghaleon. The basic thing to keep in mind, id that he's almost uncontrolably mysterious. He's also more than a little full of himself.

Grimm : The all-new, unstoppable Avatar, eh? I like! More!

Gooz : Back with a vengeance! Great stuff. Love Sam's newfound attributes. Now, by god, do something with Priest!

NotWedge : Excellent stuff! Loving the Drake character more and more. Plus, it was great seeing the actual writer of Ghaelon (or Ghaleon? I could have sworn it was the former.) get to do the character. Well done, indeed.

Danny : Kneel Before Zod!!

The correct spelling is Ghaleon, and it's pronounced the same as the word "galleon". I certainly can't take too much credit for the character, since I blatantly stole the him from the video game series Lunar (there are two games: Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue). This is also the source for Drax's rather strange appearance.

I'd suggest everyone buy the games (since they're some of my favorites), but they're out of production. Of course, since this is a "rebooted" reality, I can start to steal some of the credit away .
