The sky was dark and the team sat around a fire eating the flesh of a deer-like animal Brianna and Euro had hunted on their way back to the camp, just when they had given up all hopes of finding any food.
"Do you think we should be eating this meat?" Drake asked, "We don't know what effect it could have on us..."
"I DON'T CARE!" Mason Templar exclaimed as his teeth destroyed a piece of meat three times bigger than the one Drake was holding.
"Don't worry, Drake," Sam said, "I've been eating this for months and I seem to be okay..."
"Oh shit, now the whole team's gonna start calling me 'Ox'" Ozzy lamented.
As the team laughed, Phil looked at Matthews and asked, "Was it like this at the Strikeforce?"
"What?"
"Back in the Strikeforce," Phil continued, "did you ever have moments like this one with your teammates?"
Epicenter thought for a moment. "No," he said, staring blankly at the fire, "It was the opposite of this, actually. The senior members thought they were too good for everyone else... And everyone else was too busy trying to escalete positions to be friendly to each other. Even guys like Hero and Captain Ekorre were total jerks."
"Now that you're being open..." Priest said, "would you tell us your damn first name, man?"
"I'm not trying to hide it, it's just that every time I try to say it something bad happens!"
"Come on, that's silly..." Drake said. "Don't be superstitious."
"Okay, it's--" "BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP!"
Everyone looked at Mason Templar as he sat back in relaxation. "Aaaaah..." he said "Haven't had a meal like that in a loooooooong time..." He suddenly looked very concerned. "I'm terribly sorry if I embarassed you, milady," he said, leaning in Brianna's direction.
"Umm... Don't worry about me," she replied, leaning back to avoid the smell of Templar's breath, that reached her though she was sitting on the opposite side of the fire.
"I suggest you refrain from saying your first name, Epicenter, if we don't want our mister Templar to liberate any other kind of gas..." Adem said, and with that the place was filled with the team's laughter, Templar's own being the loudest of them all.
