Danny was surprised to see Brianna grab his hand...well, his claw, anyways. "The last time you said that, I had a arrow in my side and was tied up like a game turkey."

"So?"

"So? Can't you say something else? 'Go go go Vanguard'? 'Let's roll'? 'Semper Fi Vanguard'?"

"How about 'Brianna, get airborn so you don't get attack from the back again?"

Brianna placed her hand on her hip and stuck out her tongue. "I just want you to know, he snuck up on me." And then she jumped into the air. Euro joined her. Their backs and wing tips were brushing against the ceiling as they flew past everyone else.

Priest and Danny were running shortly behind them. "So what's your plan, Animalman?"

"Don't call me that!" hissed Danny.

"Sorry. It rhymed."

"We've got to find Grayavale. Although it's looking like he may not want to help us."

Up ahead, Euro was saying the same thing to Brianna.

"Then why not kill me?" she asked.

"What?" said Euro.

They were flying in a tall, dark, stony hallway. There were doors and fireplaces and windows that broke the stone pattern every few moments. The hallway also seemed to have a slight slope, so the two Vanguardians seem to be going up. "Grayavale's men. I got shot in the side, and I turned around and tried to scream but I think the arrow pinched my diaphram. That's how come I was caputred so easily. But they weren't rough with me at all. The one guard wanted to question me, but his superior said to wait." Brianna thought for a moment. "He said to wait...like there would be questioning later. This place is very strange. I don't think he brought us here to kill us. Do you think...do you think maybe this was Grayavale's only way of getting us here? To talk?"

"If that's the case, what's your idea?"

"Get Grayavale in a situation where we're the ones in charge. It's like with animals. Grayavale's testing us to see how dominant we are. We need to show him that we're tough but we not necessary his enemy?"

"Where did you learn all that?" asked Euro.

Brianna smiled. "Birdwatching."
