several points:

1) i've grown to loathe politics, courtesy of this message board. the howard stern show, and like things, were escapes from real life stuff at one point. now, every morning, half of my porn is dedicated to politics, and i hate that. it has nothing to do with a political affiliation to a side.

2) the ratings spike is expected, simply because of the controversy. its the same reason "janet jackson" became the internet's most popular chick right after the superbowl. its not that the world now loves liberals and hates conservatives. its that the world loves controversy, especially when its put into the spotlight.

3) i do think that there's an obvious problem with the censorship (or "restriction" if you want) of various programs, specifically the howard stern show. that oprah/howard thing thats going on, i feel, clearly illustrates that point.

however, i still don't understand the relation between the president and the censorship of the show. does the FCC have much interaction with the president? if so, would howard be much better off with a liberal president, considering he received his fiercest fines to date during clinton's terms?
