Actually, I guess it is, b/c I think it's obvious that President Bush believes this to be the case, so maybe she was trying to get Senator Kerry to shoot himself in the foot on this one and contradict the president. Just trying to figure out the motivation of this one.
Or maybe she has strong religious convictions, and she wanted to see if the candidates shared those. Another case of good intentions taking a wrong turn.
Either way, it was a dumb question because a candidate's religious beliefs aren't important as long as they can get the job done - as long as the candidates don't bear any prejudice towards other religions. I wouldn't want a candidate like that in office, especially considering the role religion sometimes plays in international politics.
