Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, who once vowed never to work with Don King, says he's considering signing with the American promoter.

Lewis said in British newspaper reports Monday that he could sign a four-fight, 75-million-pound (US$100 million) deal with King if he defeats Hasim Rahman in Saturday's title rematch in Las Vegas.

"I know I said I would never work him but time changes things and sometimes you have to accept that someone is good at what they do," Lewis told The Times. "We'll see how things work out this time, then look at whether we'll do anything together in the future."

"He does promote a good fight," he added. "Boxers at this stage of their career need someone to promote them well. King's history speaks for itself."

King currently promotes WBA champion Johnny Ruiz and former champion Evander Holyfield.

Lewis, 36, split with longtime promoter Panos Eliades last year and fired manager Frank Maloney last week.

Lewis lost the WBC and IBF titles when he was knocked out by Rahman last April in South Africa.

If Lewis regains the titles, he could be in line for a fight with former champion Mike Tyson. But Lewis said he is also interesting in fighting Canada's Kirk Johnson.

Everyone is gagging for a Lewis-Tyson match, of course.

Teeing up with King though is sensible on paper but who could work with such a cheat?! The man controls the judges.

And did you see the bout with Rahman? 4 round knock-out, with Rahmam's head bouncing on the mat! Superb right jab from Lewis. Rahman got a split over his eye in the first round. People booing for lack of action in the second. And then sensation in the 4th.

Great match, nice revenge bout for Lewis, for the trash talk about his sexuality, and the loss of his championship belt in South Africa.

Lewis is now saying he wants a piece of Tyson. Excellent.

the guy im working with, a main events chair person, says the tyson bout is an unofficial done deal.

Fantastic.

Can't wait.

There was a world boxing conference in Bangkok last week end. Would have liked to have gone to it if I'd known about it!

Ah, yes. I'd forgotten that one.

GQ magazine (read it at the barbershop) has an interview with Will Smith. Turns out he's playing Ali in a movie on Ali's life story. Fight scenes sound realistic.

as much as i loathe the idea of will smith: actor...

he's actually very believable in the portrayal -- the guy put on 35-45 pounds in muscle weight for the part
