I also find Lesnars comments ridiculous about "Wanting to be able to walk when he is 40!" when he's actually more likely to suffer injured knees etc in an American Football game than he would in WWE.
Look at guys like The Rock & Goldturd, didnt they have to give up Football because of injuries sustained while playing?
And unless I'm very much mistaken,Lesnar has already had knee surgery so his knees are very unlikely to hold up to the stresses of an NFL game!

He has apparently now said he doesnt wanna be involved in a "fake" sport anymore!

so instead of sticking with the path that made him rich, popular, and skyrocketed him, unfairly, directly to the top.... all because its fake....

he'd rather be a bottom feeding, "low" paid, old rookie, with not a single offer on the table.

keep it real, brock!

Great comment, Rob!

I can see it six months from now: Brock Lesnar, featured in "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong" on Chappelle's Show!

I like this note from the Torch newsletter

Quote:

Since Chavo Guerrero Sr. has joined the company, he has become a locker room favorite and really provides a comical relief with his sense of humor.

Now that the WWE and Brock Lesnar have made his departure from the company public, those in the locker room have become more vocal about Lesnar's status while with the company. One wrestler was quoted saying "He's not a team player at all. No one likes him. He's a jackass. He's not very social. He's not one of the boys. How you see him on TV is pretty much how he is in real life."

With Eddie Guerrero leading the Smackdown roster as their champion, he has really started to get the support from the locker room. One wrestler was quoted saying "Eddie represents this company well. He's great. Houses are up. We had two sellouts recently, something that didn't happen when Brock was headlining as champion.People are chanting Eddie's name before shows. He's a phenomenal champion for us. Eddie eats, talks, and sits with us. If anyone deserves his success, it's him." In addition to Eddie's growing popularity with the other wrestlers on the roster, attendance has been noticably higher since he won the title.

also almost everyone not in the first round gets the minimum, so why do all those guys enter the draft that are obvious 2nd and 3rd rounders?

because even the second and third rounders still get a hell of alot more than the undrafted free-agents........and you're right there is nothing written in stone about paying a number one pick or number 20 pick a set amount of dolaars........but the draft order usually dictates the market place based on the precedent set the previous year.

second and third rounders don't get the minimum......generally they get contracts that pay at least 1million per year........while the undrafted free agents get the minimum which is around 335,000 per year.........not too shabby.

Is Brock "well off"? I know nothing about wrestling salaries. This seems like an awfully big risk to take unless he's already a multi-millionaire.

fair enough.....I was just talking about the top 3 rounds......but as far as what is the benefit of being drafted in the 4th round and up.......I guess it will give you a little more job security than someone who wasn't drafted at all.

yeah but that was in the past if you draft properly you'll end up keeping most your players with the exception of 1-3 players......the Bengals used to draft poorly.....I think things are looking up for them with Lewis.

Correct. On all counts.

I wouldn't recommend playing football to anyone, but especially not someone who's looking to avoid serious injuries. NFL players aren't covered well, either. Their pension fund doesn't kick in until they're 55. The average lifespan of an NFL player is 57. Yeah.

Seriously, I just know that Lesnar probably didn't ask Rocky or Goldberg about it, either. Kinda like how Rafer Alston said that no other streetballers ever ask him what it takes to make it in the NBA. Rock played linebacker at Miami, Goldberg actually made it to the NFL for three seasons as a backup D-lineman. They'd tell him he had no shot.

And that's terrible.

y'know, re-reading the offical news blurb:

Quote:

Brock Lesnar has made a personal decision to put his WWE career on hold to prepare to tryout for the National Football League this season. Brock has wrestled his entire professional career in the WWE and we are proud of his accomplishments and wish him the best in his new endeavor.

it sounds a lot more temporary than i thought it was. almost seems to say "if he doesn't make a cut this season, he'll be back in the wwe."

still a silly decision.

There were rumours about a team called The Vikings but the team manager or coach has flat out denied there is any interest!

Yeah, that rumor's been flying around here. Lesner's a Minnesota boy. Sorry, our media and Vikes coach Tice blew off thsi rumor by Tuesday. Lesner played the same game with our University team a few years ago, showed interest and then didn't do a damn thing about it. The Vikes need D, but not that bad.

No way this steriod fueled millionairre is going to dump his gig for football. He just doesn't have the training for it.

Brock Lesnar still has another five years left on his WWE contract which has put WWE in the power position in terms of negotiating his release. Brock parted ways with super agent Barry Bloom after Bloom got him his original WWE contract. It seems likely right now that WWE will not allow him to work for any other pro-wrestling or shoot fight company for the next five years. WWE is expecting Brock to return if he is unable to land a job in the NFL. Despite what some think, Lesnar is not financially set for life. He is very young and spent money freely during the last year or so on expensive cars and other "toys."

At this point, these appear to be the nine reasons why Brock Lesnar left WWE:

1. His travel schedule. Brock has always been a farm boy and he could not handle the hectic schedule, waking up in hotel rooms everyday, etc.

2. He didn't love pro-wrestling. Brock got into wrestling for the money. He actually hated pro-wrestling when he was a standout amateur wrestler.

3. Right or wrong, he really feels he can make it to the NFL. Brock misses being involved in a "real sport."

4. He thought WWE did not appreciate him enough. Brock was not happy with how he was being booked and that he had to drop the WWE Title to a "little guy" like Eddie Guerrero. He wanted a long title reign. Having to work matches against Bob Holly in South Africa made him feel even more demoted.

5. His personal life. Brock is currently living with his young child and the child's mother, while dating Sable. His personal life has added a lot of stress and anxiety.

6. He was embarrassed that walk up ticket sales to WWE house shows went up after he dropped the WWE Title to Eddie Guerrero.

7. He did not want to feud with the Undertaker. 'Taker had been telling people that he would "set Brock straight" and humble him if he didn't show veterans respect.

8. He did not want to end up with serious injuries or be a cripple. He did not like that wrestling had no off season where he could rest his body.

9. He had nothing left to prove. He had already reached the top of the wrestling industry and thought the only place he would go now is down, then back up to where he had already been. He wanted a new challenge.
