From newsarama:

In regards to continuity, Didio said, "We don't want continuity to drive the stories, we want the stories to drive the continuity," adding that if the particular story doesn't work within the particular continuity, DC would rather push the continuity aside ffor the moment until they can come up with something better and get it right. Didio also added that, despite what some fans may see as multiple continuity streams within the DCU, there will be no Zero Hour or Crisis.

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be grey, but your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad

continuity causes too many problems(see: jokers last laugh crossover). i wish they'd let writers who don't want to be bogged down by 10 years worth of backstory do theirs in an elseworlds type thing. in fact, i think whenever a new writer comes on the book, they should have a seperate numbering on their run(ex: keep the number onaction comics going, but have like a seperate 1, ect, ect below that to signafy the writers run on the book).

wouldn't that be every dc writers fault then, as it was a month long company crossover?
