Spiderman: It had come out a little bit after X-Men, which I loved, so I was hoping for/expecting this to be just as good. I thought Tobey Maguire was a great cast. He looked like the character, a down to Earth, normal looking guy, almost nerdy, even; not some typical blonde hair, blue eyed Hollywood pretty boy. I wasn't too impressed by the pictures I'd seen of the Green Goblin costume(infact, I thought it sucked), but I had faith in Willem Dafoe and Sam Raimi. To top it all off, a few weeks prior to seeing it I saw a trailer with Spidey swinging through Manhattan that completely blew me away. I was hooked. I was convinced it was going to be good.
And it blew. Awful script, horrid dialogue, and pretty crappy performances by Maguire and Dunst. They had no chemistry. Even Willem Dafoe was a bit hammy(especially with the scene where he's talking to a chair). J.K Simmons(Jameson) gave the only really strong performance(he practically stole the show, actually). The action scenes, which were, at times, spectacular, were the only thing keeping me in my seat, and they almost weren't enough.
