I'm sorry that i haven't been able to write this thing as often as I wanted. I've been without computer access except at work, and they expect me to do my job while I'm here, the stinkin' Nazis. It's a particularly slow night here and nobody's here with me, so I thought I'd sneak a shortened version while you're still waiting for the real thing. So, sorry no pretty pictures with captions i find amusing. I've decided to post my Top Ten Favorite Animated Shows of All Time. I'm throwing comedy, action and Anime all into the same thing just to make it extra confusing and controversial. Please not that I am specifically omiting shows that show classic animated shorts to keep thins from being a lst of ten different shows that show classic Daffy Duck cartoons. I'll do my best to explain my chices and I'm going from 10 to 1 to keep up the tension. Oooooooo! Also, please note that this changes constantly given mood shifts, planetary alignments and cash bribes from creators.
10. Transformers The king of the '80s action figure cartoons. I know, I'm supposed to retroactively call it "Generation One" now. I'll probably do that right after I start calling Star Wars "Episode IV". This will be the next "regular" installment of "NJfKs" by the way. (You should call it "NJfKs" toom all the cool kids are doing it.
9. Family Guy Just a really, really weird show with a traditional family structure. One of many shows Fox shouldn't have cancelled (for those who like to keep track, four out of the ten shows on my list are ones Fox shouldn't have cancelled).
8. Space Ghost Coast to Coast a concept that never should have worked that worked really, really well. Take the washed up star of a so-so almost forgotten superhero cartoon and make him the host of a goofy talk show (with the help of some of his former enemies. Well, kinda former). They've made more shows that are kinda similar (Harvey Birdman and Sealab 2021) but I'm going with the original one here.
7. Futurama I wrote all about this one already. Go read it. Now.
6. Animaniacs Of the shows that fox cancelled, this is the one that probably proved to be the biggest mistake since it's the show that pretty much launched Kids WB. This one really captured the feel of the classic Warner Brothers shorts with a modern twist. I was tempted to add its spinoff 'pinky and the Brain" to my list too, but I figured i could cheat and say it's included in here.
5. Outlaw Star a great little Anime show I'm not sure if many people have seen. Basically, this was the show joss whedon was trying to make when he made "Firefly" There'll be more on this soon.
4. Gargoyles My favorite action/adventure cartoon. I don't want to talk too much about this one yet, but I like it. A LOT.
3. The Simpsons I still think it's a great show, it just suffers from the fact that it's the only show on television that has to constantly be compared to the Simpsons at its best.
2. The Tick Funny as hell, the best superhero cartoon ever. The live show was brilliant but it still sucked compared to this. Believe me, I'll be writing about this one very soon
1. FL CL Confusing? You bet! Hard to understand? You know it! Worth the trouble of figuring out? You better believe it. It's one of the best forms of entertainment I've ever experienced. This is one I'd kind of like to save for when i know what I'm doing when I write about it.
So, there you have it. Feel free to argue and stuff. Tell me I'm stupid to still like the Simpsons. I love hearing that one. There are a few honerable mentions, such as the various modern DC animated series, Fruits Basket (my girlfriend is gonna kill me for not putting that in the top ten) some I sort of mentioned in the above entries (Pinky and the Brain as well as Sealab 2021), Reboot. I'm forgettign a bunch, I know, but I'm almost out of time. I'll see you with the next REAL not Just for Kids soon.

I don't feel like making a list at the moment, but Aquateen Hunger Force is on it somewhere. It started out unfunny, but quickly became hilarious by indulging in its utter weirdness.

No particular order...
Justice League: It's has my girl Shayera on it, who totally kicks ass.
Batman: Even though I didn't read comics until I was 19, I was a Batfan at age six.
Batman Beyond: I know some Batfans hated it. I loved it.
Gargoyles: I want this on DVD. Like, now.
Beast Wars: Dinobot kicked asssssssssss! I love that show. I do intend to eventually watch the original series as well.

I still don't think there's an official date, but there has been an official announcement it'll be on DVD soon. I believe the announcement was made at the last Gathering.
edit: It was announced at the 2002 Gathering that the original five part pilot (Awakening) was going to be released in 2003 but they've changed their minds and will now be releasing the entire first season (complete with commentary by the show's creator and other extras) in November or December of this year.

I loved Beast Wars! We used to get all the new episodes here first (because MAINFRAME is a Canadian company). I loved how they tied it to TF G-1. It's too bad they ruined it with Beast Machines though.

I have mix feelings on Beast Machines. It was good by itself, but disappointing compared to Beast Wars.
Pros:
Animation was great looking Cheetor, Black Arachnia, and Silverbolt's characters improved I liked the additional characters -- Botanica and Nightscream From what I watched, the stories were good
Cons:
Did not like Optimus and Ratrap in the series, both in appearence and character Having know knowledge of the G1 Transfomers, I really did not 'get' Cybertron I liked the old system of Predacons vs. Maximals...Maximals vs. Megatron's head just didn't do it for me Several characters I liked (Airazor, Tigertron, and Dinobot) were dead

I liked the animation, but the story got weird when Megatron turned into that big floating head. I think they just took the "purging of everything organic" angle too far.

Who can keep it to 10? I also suppose we can't count animated movies like Disney stuff? The Smurfs and Superfriends were just out of the top 20, as were some of the Marvel cartoons.

I must admit, I've been checking out Inuyasha recently, and it seems OK. The newest Adult Swim addition, Wolf's Rain is damn cool.
