Centurian
Real name:
Alexander “Alex” Henderson
Occupation:
Student.
Powers:
By rolling his mystical percentile dice, Alexander Henderson is magically transported to another dimension and is replaced with 1 of 100 fantasy related adventurers or creatures.
Each number combination of the dice calls upon a particular adventurer or creature (see below). The rolls are completely random and each adventurer or creature has a will of their own.
While in the other dimension, Alex can telepathically communicate with his replacements and can use their sense of sight, hearing and smell to observe what his replacements are doing in the real world.
These dimensional swaps last for 3 hours, then Alex is automatically brought back to the real world. Though Alex is not sure what happens to his counterparts when he swaps back with them.
Personality:
Alex is a 17 year-old student and an avid D&D player. At school he is considered a geek and a dork, because of his lack of sporting prowess and his gaming hobby.
Alex lives at home with his Mom, who spends most of her time at work.
Alex is rather shy, especially around women (except for his Mom), and adopts respectful tones around people older than himself. This makes it hard for Alex to control some of the more experienced and bolder adventurers.
Though quite excited by the prospect of becoming a superhero, Alex is still new to superheroing (for example not having a costume, forgetting to use his codename). He will ask lots of questions and seek lots of reassurance that what he is doing is right. He will follow the orders of older members without question, even if he disagrees with them, and does not feel confident expressing his own thoughts or opinions, unless directly asked.
Alex will not tell the JLR what he knows about the history of the dice, yet, as he is worried the JLR may throw him off the team if they find out about the dies questionable past.
Appearance:
Alex is short for his age and thin. He has blonde hair and green eyes.
Alex currently doesn’t have a superhero costume, wearing normal cloths on missions.
When each of the 100 dice beings is transported to the real world, they possess relevant armour, weapons and magical items.
History:
About a month ago, Alex Henderson was in his local gaming store, when a strange man walked up to him and offered him some percentile dice.
The man told Alex, that he would want these dice, and he guaranteed impressive results. He pressed the dice into Alex’s hands and literally disappeared into the shadows.
Returning home, Alex absently took the dice from his pocket and threw them on his bedside table. When the dice stopped rolling, Alex was sent into another dimension, while a Dwarven Fighter-Thief appeared in his place in the real world.
Alex found he was able to communicate with Thorfen (the Dwarf), but wasn’t able to stop the Dwarf from making a big mess in his home. After about 3 hours, Thorfen disappeared and Alex reappeared back in his home.
After a bit more testing, Alex discovered that the dice replaced him with different fantasy adventurers or creatures, depending on the dice role.
Seeing the JLR advertise for new members, Alex adopted the codename Centurian, as he can randomly call upon 1 of 100 different beings, when he rolls the dice.
Centurian has recently learnt that an evil wizard, Morthryn, is somehow connected with the dice. Morthryn was at least responsible for three of the adventurers being associated with the dice.
Related Characters:
When rolling the mystical percentile dice, Centurian is replaced with 1 of the following beings.
Centurian is not aware of every being, associated with the dice. The beings that Centurian has swapped with so far, are in bold.
