I bought Balent's Catwoman for the T&A. Wasn't even sure if there was a story in there. Soft porn title lasted 5 years, and then died when Balent left.
At the time, Balent defended his art by saying Catwoman's physique was modelled on his wife's. Tarot kind of undermines the credibility of that statement: basically, he likes drawing big hooters.
I'll tell you who I hate: Image Comics. Millaaaaah is writing Wanted for them at the moment, and its a great title. But Image can't help themselves: the first top selling title they've had in years, and they put out foil covers, alternative covers, and then the Wanted Dossier. I picked the Wanted Dossier up yesterday at lunch by accident, thinking it was the third installment in the series - I'd not looked at the cover very closely. It was shite from beginning to end, in true Image fasion: re-hashed plot, some useless background, and random drawings of some key characters. I've thrown it away already.

Seriously, though, I always liked Balent's stuff. Decent artist, and, unlike some of his contemporaries, he did 50+ straight issues without taking a break. Nowadays, we comics fans are lucky if someone can do 12 issues in a row.

I reitterate, Catwoman's breasts were never as big as Tarot's or any other of the characters within her book.

And it's actually "big breasts" and "humongous to the point of back breaking breasts". Then there's also the fact that the themes of the comic books were different. He also didn't try to make any sort of secrets about Tarot being softcore porn whereas his case with Catwoman was entirely different. Thus, cause or comparison is.....Flimsy to say the least.

People said Balent was a TnA artist because he drew Catwoman with large breasts. Balent tried to dodge that by saying he based Catwoman on his wife. Now, however, he draws comics like Tarot, involving women with even bigger breasts.
What seems more likely: Balent's wife got implants, and he's still basing his women on his wife, or Balent justs plain likes drawing women with huge boobs?

I never said otherwise about the latter, but what I did say was that Catwoman is hardly comparable to Tarot in the type of context Dave is suggesting. And to my knowledge, Balent didn't say he modeled TAROT after his wife. As a matter of fact, I already pointed this out to Mxy in one of the posts above.
