Legend of Zelda Reborn
It's been four long years since Nintendo unveiled its Space World 2000 demo of Legend of Zelda. The realistic take on the action-adventure franchise, which showcased a brief fight sequence between an older, meaner Link and a downright evil looking Gannondorf, was shelved less than a year after its unveiling so that Nintendo could instead pursue the cel-shaded Wind Waker style. But Nintendo fans never forgot about that brief trailer that showed so much promise.
And, as it turns out, neither did Nintendo.
Today at its pre-E3 event in Los Angeles, Nintendo dropped a earth-shaking bomb. Not only has it secretly been working on a brand new Legend of Zelda title inspired by its famous Space World 2000 demo, but the game is very far along and looks absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.
As the lights dimmed and the brief trailer for the game rolled, press on hand seemed unsure about what to expect. But when the music kicked in -- an homage to the 1998 Ocarina of Time movie spot -- the crowd went wild. (The new Legend of Zelda trailer actually features the same song from composer Basil Poledouris, who orchestrated Conan The Barbarian.) What followed was an awe-inspiring display of cutting-edge graphics and an overall crowd reaction that approached a pure state of euphoria.
The footage showcased a detailed adult Link as he rode his horse across an expansive Hyrule, did battle with a number of different enemy types including a Moblin, Bokoblins and multiple Lizalfos. In one stunning scene, the sun set as dark riders advanced over the horizon. In another, Link battled against a gigantic fire boss. He also explored the forest, seemed to solve puzzles in a dungeon and more. The visuals, featuring what is hands-down the best Link model ever designed and a host of impressive technical feats such as advanced lighting and shadow effects, crisp textures, and impressive draw distance, to name a few, made Nintendo fans' eyes roll in their heads.
After the display ended and the crowd settled, Nintendo designer and director Shigeru Miyamoto took the stage with Master Sword and shield in hand and addressed lucky attendees. "I am not Link, but I do know him!" he joked. "Even after 18 years the Legend of Zelda never stops changing and this game is no different. We are now taking you to a world where Link has grown up -- a world where he will act different and look different. In order to grow, Link must not stand still and neither will I. Thank you and goodbye." With a few more sword swings, Miyamoto stepped off the stage.
The game, simply titled Legend of Zelda (and not Wind Waker 2), is set for release on GameCube sometime next year.

i think it goes even above and beyond that.
even with all the other great stuff nintendo is putting out, and what microsoft and sony are putting out... this is the only game that will probably become a "system seller" -- i.e; a game so good / popular, it causes people to purchase a gamecube.
orcaina of time had a similar effect with the n64.
wind waker was an amazing game, but not amazing enough to convince people to try the cube.
however, if this game even approaches its hype, stores better start stocking their shelves.

I agree... Metroid Prime tried for this but didn't quite succeed. This Zelda will do for GCN what Halo did for XBox, and what the Grand Theft Autos did for PS2.

final fantasy and zelda bear little resemblence.
the legend of zelda is, perhaps, the gaming industry's greatest and most stoic franchise. each of the games that make up the storyline have garnered rave reviews and critical acclaim from those in and outside the world of video games.
zelda's gameplay is always top notch. the stories are always top notch. the intrigue and detail are always top notch. there are many games, and quite a few series, but only one legend.
nintendo 64's orcaina of time is often heralded as the greatest video game ever created.
this upcoming zelda game appears to be based off that design, yet incredibly enhanced. just the little we know about the upcoming game looks and plays amazingly.
the framerate is amazing, the screen details are breathtaking, the graphical style is beautiful, the animation is stunning...
knowing the history behind the games, the previous volumes, the amazing controls and style, let alone simply glancing at these screen shots (most of which are in real-time), watching the trailer, and reading the story...
what could you not find impressive about this?

Wind Waker was different, yes, I was referring to the N64 games like Ocorina of Time.

The style of the game isn't really represented in the screenshots. I only meant the graphics(which are similar to the cutscene graphics of games like Final Fantasy). That's what all the "OMG BEST GAME EVER UHHHHH" stuff seemed to be based on.

I loved the A Link in Time SNES game(or whatever it was called), but I was extremely dissapointed with the N64 games, which did use the Final Fantasy style of battle sequencing and story-format. It just didn't feel like it was Link anymore. I didn't particularly care for the camera angles, the controls, or the story, either. It was much ado about nothing, for me.
As for this game, the screenshots like fine, just not a whole lot better(if at all) than anything else done graphically the last few years. That's why I'm wondering what has prompted the enormous praise already heaped on it, before any of you have even played it.

to not like orcaina of time puts you in a very small grouping.
and, if thats the case, odds are, you won't like this game at all, so no worries.

all of the zelda games use the same story-format and battle sequencing. a link to the time (that was the SNES game) was a fantastic game, and possibly the best 2d adventure ever.
although the n64 system "converted" the games to a 3d life, the game mechanics remained the same. all zelda games are carried out in a "real time" fashion, unlike FF's turn-based gaming.
FF leans more towards a roll playing game (RPG), where as zelda leans more towards an action game -- both of which done so purposely.

the camera angles/control and game play controls used in OOT are one of its defining characteristics, and has often been credited as defining the third dimension adventure. many games from every system have since duplicated that style, because it worked so well -- most games continue to do so.
the story of zelda games really deliver as much as you want to make of them, as you unfold the story on your own. another aspect of the more adventure-based zelda, the stories are non-linear. there's a general "backbone," but you do the exploring and solving.
the more time you spend, the more side quests you complete, the more people you talk to, the more story developes, and the more you get out of the game.
all of the above is, of course, personal taste. if you're not a fan of the controls or story, thats perfectly fine. but it should be stated again that would put you in a small minority. like those weirdos who don't like chicken.
all of the above is why we're, and every gaming communities on the net tonight are going nuts.

for starters, the screen shots are still somewhat early, the game has only just been officially acknowledged.
however, most importantly to note, most of the screen shots are real-time, in game footage. not pre-rendered cut scenes. additionally, most of the animation that supports those screen shots is incredibly fluid, and more than likely a solid 60 fps. with all those textures and details, combined wth the typical massive size and depth of any zelda game, thats simply unheard of.

I'm almost embarrassed to ask this....but I thought Ocarina of Time did have that same "turn based" battle style.....

This is my problem. I think Zelda worked as a quirky, fun, 2D kids game as evidenced by A Link To the Past, which was great. I don't, however, believe the game developers made a smooth transition into a mature, expanded story 3D game.

Ok, so why is this already being declared as the best thing since sliced bread?

be embarrased! all zelda games are action based, from NES to the cube. the upcoming game will be no different.

easy - because they already look so great despite being so early. its like watching an amazing athelete in his rookie season.

your eyes deceive you. there are few games, if any, that can deliver those types of visuals. add in the sheer size and variety and detail and development of the story and environment and intracacies of previous zelda games, and there's not a single other game out there that can preform those looks.
and yes, i'd say its safe to assume, based on both your dislike of the game and your thoughts on its game play, you've probably never played it
anyway...
i'd like to keep this thread somewhat clear(er), so's its not so messy with new folk stumble upon it.
so, if y'dont mind, lets move non-directly related discussions to their own threads.

Leading up to the pre-E3 2004 show, gamers believed that Nintendo was working on a sequel to Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, which would in turn indicate that the action-adventure would be cel-shaded in nature and would also likely feature a young version of hero Link. But as the newly redesigned Legend of Zelda proves, the company has instead reverted to a presentation more akin to the dark and gritty look of Link and Gannondorf previewed at Space World 2000 in Japan.
Nintendo however confirmed to IGNcube that the newly redesigned title does in fact run on a modified version of the Wind Waker engine.
Though adopting a similar look to the wildly successful "Orcaina of Time," Nintendo also revealed that the new Legend of Zelda is in fact not a remake of any kind, but instead an entirely original undertaking.
Meanwhile, more gameplay details were divulged. Link will feature the same eye-tracking system used in Wind Waker. He'll be able to knock all types of enemies off their horses and send them crashing to the ground. And a new dynamic camera system will shoot some dungeons from new perspectives.
Evidently when Link explores some still-unrevealed dungeons the camera will pan back and shoot the action from a top-down angle. Players will be able to see parts of the 3D maze that lies in wait. But when the character encounters an enemy the camera will seamlessly sweep in again to shoot the battle from the normal behind-the-back perspective.
Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma serve as producers. A new, still-secret director will helm the project as director.
A new, longer Legend of Zelda video that shows off never-before-seen areas and scenarios will be previewed behind closed doors at E3. Details to come!

I don't like RPGs. In fact, I hate RPGs. I look at Final Fantasy and yawn. I don't give a shit about the graphics. To me, they're like the action scenes in a movie. I don't like modern games because they're too complex for me (not the stories, the playability) (is that a word?). I never figured out Mario 64 or any fighting game after Super Street Fighter II Turbo. However, I love the Zelda series for three reasons: A) They're easy to play. I was afraid Ocarina of Time was gonna be too complex, but I learned to play it in minutes. The stories kick ass. Especially Ocarina of Time. C) As a kid I loved A Link to the Past in spite of the RPGesque style and not because of it. I always looked at the art in the booklet and imagined how the game would be in 3D. The world of Ocarina of Time wasn't exactly how I imagined it as a kid but it's pretty damn close. And this new game looks even closer. I'm not drooling over this game because of the graphics, though I suppose they're pretty good. I'm drooling over it because of what they suggest concerning the story, the playability and the resemblance to A Link to the Past.

Although, I'm in agreeance mostly with the story part. Cuz' after playin' a whole bunch of Zelda games and Metal Gear games with the same controls over and over with only action cut scenes to satiate me, I gotta have something to equalize. Story has, amazingly, become the hugest concern for me involving the classics like Zelda or Metal Gear.

Shigeru Miyamoto: Just very quickly though, as for the reason why Link has changed, there were very, very, very, very many people out there who wanted Link to change [laughs]. Also there's another reason and that's that in developing the Wind Waker we know that we were going to be creating a game in which Link was a young boy and trying to create a very active and very energetic young boy and trying to choose the right style for portraying the young boy in a game like that we tried many different experiments. The ultimate decision we came to was that the cel-shading in Wind Waker was the best option for expressing that. We also wanted to create a very unique game world on the GameCube.
But since then, we've been left with a very big question: and that was, what are we going to do when we decide to make Link a teenager again -- a 16-year-old Link. So after Wind Waker we tried several different models and made varied versions of them. Ultimately we decided that in showing a teenage Link really the best style of expressing him would be something that's closer to our graphical style in Ocarina of Time. So Mr. Aonuma actually wasn't lying at the Game Developer's Conference when he said we were working on Wind Waker 2. He just didn't tell the whole story. And fortunately because he didn't tell the whole story, we were able to surprise you all here with a big announcement about the series.
So the rest I will leave up to Eiji Aonuma (producer).
Eiji Aonuma: I'm sure all of you saw the video of the new Legend of Zelda game at this point. One thing that I'd like to point out to everybody is that none of that is CG. It's all done in real-time and running on the game engine. That movie was actually created by somebody who took a version of the game, played it, videotaped and then cut the pieces together to make the movie.
One more thing I'd like to point out. For a long time now -- ever since Ocarina of Time -- Mr. Miyamoto has talked about how he'd like Link to be able to fight on horseback so he could have mounted battle scenes with Link swinging his sword. Unfortunately we were not able to do that in the N64 games. And this time that's been a big focus for us with the new game on GameCube. So I think in that sense, the fact that we're seeing Link on horseback and swinging a sword, I think that's one more way in which Link has matured.
Shigeru Miyamoto: Obviously everybody wants us to show things as early as we possibly can and as much as we would like to show things at a very late stage we don't always have that opportunity. And if we wait to show it until everything is done then I don't get the chance to upend the tee table. Obviously one of the main purposes of the E3 show is to focus on the titles that we're going to have out in the next year. This game is going to be launching in 2005 so I hope you'll all understand that while the game is very far along at this point we're not going to be revealing a whole lot of details yet.

Next Zelda Set After Wind Waker
And it will be very, very beautiful, according to Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma.
by Matt Casamassina
In an interview with the French publication Liberation, Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma commented on the next installment in the series for GameCube, and confirmed that a DS Zelda title is underway.
Aonuma, who was the level designer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and directed the follow-up Majora's Mask, is currently overseeing the new GameCube Legend of Zelda. "I'm two-hundred percent involved in its development," he told the publication.
Shigeru Miyamoto's right-hand man was slim on details about the game. "The next episode in the Zelda series for GameCube is already coming, but I can't say absolutely anything about it," he explained. "You know the deal -- even the title and theme are still secret."
However, he did confirm two never-before-known facts about the project. "The next grand Zelda game, which follows chronologically after the Wind Waker, will be released at the end of 2005 in Japan," Aonuma revealed. The late 2005 release date in Japan would indicate that a simultaneous launch in the US could be planned.
Quizzed for more specifics on the game, Aonuma held firm, but did say: "I can reveal one lone secret: it'll be very, very beautiful."
Aonuma also spoke on a Legend of Zelda title for Nintendo DS. "There's no doubt about a Zelda game for the DS," he said. "In fact, know that our ideas for Four Swords have greatly contributed to the concept behind the DS."
The producer also noted that his work on the GBA-based Four Swords influenced the direction of the DS. "The gameplay ideas we came up with for Four Swords provided examples on what kind of games would be possible on the Nintendo DS and what kind of advantages the double-screen would enable. It was all theoretical, but today we realize it's a pity -- a real shame -- that we haven't created a demonstration of a real, great Zelda game for DS."
In addition, Aonuma spoke briefly about his career. The 40 year-old producer revealed that he had never touched a videogame before he began work at Nintendo as a designer some 17 years ago. "My first experience playing a game was Zelda: A Link to the Past. A great memory that still influences me to this date."
So what does the man who helped shape the Legend of Zelda series think of its faithful hero? "Link reminds me a lot of the little boy I just had: always happy, playful, and talented enough to get himself out of every situation."
Can anyone tell me if the article said anything interesting? I was laughing too hard at the name of the french publication name to read the rest.

Noooooo! I hate that multi-player shit! I just want a one player quest with loads of dungeons, and no bloody figurine side-quests! Who the fuck over ten years old calls up thier friends to play Zelda?
But the new cube one is sounding better everyday. I hope we get this by christmas.
If karma's a bitch, it will be my bitch!

i hate judging things on graphics alone, but...
this frickin game could make me cry!
i'm already a nintendo fan boy, and i'm already a zelda freak, but... geebus good christ, this game looks beautiful. like stunningly beautiful. graphics on a par with resident evil, but with the full range and roam of a zelda game -- set in the beautiful zelda universe of lost woods, gorgons, labrynths, enormously-scaled hyrule and everything that goes along with it.
and all of this running in realtime!!
links' model is so futzin well rendered and animated, the water scenes are so fantastically life like, the environments are so indepthly ambient, the whole atmosphere presented in the two trailers is absolutely top notch.
i know, i know... i gotta play it before i can hail a judgement...
but... hot damn... if this game doesnt feel like perfection

I dunno, Rob. To me, the difference between this: and this: is substantial. I got the Link to the Past gameboy remake. As good as I remember. These just don't do it for me.
MisterJLA is RACKing awesome.

watch the new movie. you'll see.
in terms of sheer graphics, re4 is prettier, i'll give you that. as was the original re0 remake for gamecube. the advantage being there's no "field" there -- its locked in environments with locked in angles and perspectives, limiting the range. they can push polygons and detail to the extreme, because there are limits in other fields.
there are compromises you must make to balance gameplay, design, visuals, frame rate, etc. for example, halo 2 is simply beauitful -- but the framerate is botheringly choppy at times. metroid prime 2 doesn't have anywhere near the detail or visual grace, but the frame rate is a solid 60 all through out.
in this game, you have a scope second to none. few games ever even come close to rivaling the size and depth of a zelda game. metroid prime? maybe. games like vice city come the closest.
but notice a difference in presentation between this game and vice city? the frame rate is way up. and, most importantly, the detail and visuals are way up.
this game, from the reports, is gamecube pushed to the max.
and it shows.

The graphics are dope. No question. I wish I knew an asshole that owned a GameCube so I could play this and RE4.

soon, fused... you will be that ass hole... for a $99 system, you could get zelda, re4, metroid prime, smash bros, and a whole boatload of other kick ass games. or, buy the games now, then get the backwards compatible revolution

I'm so fucking happy they're releasing this on GameCube and not some new system. Looking at these pictures and trailers I feel the same way I felt as a lad watching the ads for Ocarina of Time. I didn't think a leap of those proportions was possible again, but here it is.
I'm not as excited about the graphics (I don't see any huge difference between this and Resident Evil, though I'm sure that if the experts say it's there then it is), as I am about the enormously complex world that's foreshadowed, which is exactly what attracted me to A Link To The Past and Ocarina Of Time.

The New Zelda Trailer: A Closer Look
We put Nintendo's new Legend of Zelda teaser under a magnifying glass. Inside, 12 revelations you may have missed.
by Matt Casamassina
Nintendo has suggested that, as much as it has shown of the new game, there are far bigger secrets about its new gameplay mechanics that will be unveiled this May at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2005 in Los Angeles. Until then, we've compiled some of the most interesting observations on the new trailer in the list below:
12. Blue and Red
First on the list is a little detail that's very hard to catch for viewers who don't pay attention. In the new trailer, Link emits two different colored glows depending on whether he is on the defensive or offensive. Strange? Yes. What does it mean? We have no idea. What it boils down to is this: when enemies attack Link, or when their weapons clash, a flash of blue light is emitted in front of the hero. Oppositely, when Link swipes out at foes, a pronounced flash of red light engulfs his move. Readers have noted that in one scene, an enemy blocks Link's attack and a blue light is emitted. This could indicate that blue represents blocked moves and red represents successfully landed blows.
11. Orchestrated Music
Readers who have watched the new Legend of Zelda trailer multiple times will have undoubtedly already picked up on this truth. But casual observers may have missed that the new footage is accompanied by never-before-heard orchestrated music, presumably created in-house by Nintendo's Legend of Zelda development team. Could this new piece be part of a larger, orchestrated soundtrack for the upcoming adventure game? Unfortunately, Nintendo isn't talking, but nevertheless the trailer's music is a promising sign. If the new title does, in fact, employ orchestrated music, it will be a franchise first, and also a relief for fans dazzled by the Nintendo soundtrack in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Orchestrated or MIDI, any music in the new Legend of Zelda will likely be composed by Koji Kondo, who also constructed the classic songs in such titles as Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
10. The Man in the Moon
All right. Let's get this one out of the way right now. Some gamers believe that the moon, which was showcased at the end of the new trailer, features a face -- and in turn suggest a tie-in to the Nintendo 64 Zelda game Majora's Mask. We're not so sure we subscribe to the theory, but nevertheless we'll leave the final judgment up to readers. We've provided a screenshot of the moon, as it is seen in one of the final frames from the trailer. We've also taken the opportunity to point out the could-be face. Is it just a coincidence, or is a Majora's Mask-esque satellite watching over this new land as Link explores it?
9. Dual Worlds or Time Travel
One of the biggest rumors surrounding the new trailer and the accompanying released screenshots is that they might hint at a dual world or time travel theme in the game. Two official screens in particular could back up this theory. In one image, Link swims through a transparent pond, a big, curvy tree clearly visible beneath it. Another image spotlights what could be the same area void of water. A stretch? We've provided both pictures right here for a side-by-side comparison. The location could be the same. Or, Nintendo might have simply used a similar tree model in two different settings. Supposing the areas are identical, though, there's a distinct possibility that Link travels between two worlds, or alternatively jumps between time, in order to solve puzzles and advance.
8. Fighting and Riding
Nintendo has already made it very clear that the new Legend of Zelda will enable Link to ride on horseback and battle enemies. However, the new trailer offers further insight into the process, and proves that moving fights need not be limited to horseback. While Link can swipe out and knock enemies off their horses, the character can also defend his rear while riding his horse. Footage shows enemies attacking Link as he speeds his horse along terrain. Intriguingly, their arrows are blocked by the character's shield, which dangles on his back. Later, Link is seen riding atop a razorback boar and the hero can actually charge the beast at ground-based foes, literally uprooting the unlucky souls from the earth and sending them flying in multiple directions.
7. Bomb Arrows Return
Roughly halfway through the new trailer, Link can be seen riding on his horse over a small hill. The hero shoots down a ravenous flying creature with what appears to be a bomb arrow. Longtime Zelda fans will remember that bomb arrows first appeared in Link's Awakening for Game Boy. The character used bomb arrows for explosive effect, and they could even burn down bushes, revealing secrets. The only way to use bomb arrows was to equip both bombs and the bow and then simultaneously press both the A and B buttons on the Game Boy. There is still some debate about whether or not the footage legitimately proves the return of the bomb arrows, or merely highlights a fire arrow and an exploding enemy. Either scenario is possible, but we believe that the combined weapon is back. Nintendo has long hoped to include the ability to combine weapons in its Zelda series. The new game may take that idea and run with it.
6. Day/Night System
A Zelda trademark makes its return and with more detail than ever. The new video footage showcases various day and night times as Link explores the vast locales, including dawn, day, sunset, and night. It's not only possible, but given the history of the franchise extremely likely that the day/night system will go hand-in-hand with some of the title's ambitious puzzles.
5. Weather System
Based on the new footage and screens, it's clear that weather conditions will play a bigger part in Link's new adventure than they ever have before. The teaser showcases shimmering heat effects during the gorgeous sunset scenarios. It also highlights foggy locales, overcast skies, thunder, lightning, and yes, rain. Will snow and natural climate dangers such as tornadoes also show up in some form in the new adventure?
4. The Dead are Everywhere
Will this be the darkest Zelda game to date? It sure looks that way. As Link rides and fights his way through the terrain, he encounters the walking dead in every form. In one scene, the character makes his way to an eerie graveyard surrounded by foliage and drenched in rain. It's impossible to read what's written on the gravestones. In the same area, the hero fights off groups of skeletal beasts, possibly wolves (which would fit with the later video). Later, Stalfos Knights rise to life from piles of crumbled bones. More footage still shows off spooky transparent ghosts, presumably murdered guards, as they haunt the hallways of an underground lair. We don't yet know if this is a conscious theme, or simply a means to make the game scarier. There's always the possibility that Link will learn to harness the power of the dead using a special tool in the same way that the Ocarina enabled him to manipulate time. Of course, it's all just speculation at this point, but intriguing nonetheless.
3. Lens of Truth Reveals All
This looking glass item was an important tool in Ocarina of Time and it appears as though it -- or something like it -- has been added to the new Zelda. The Lens of Truth enables Link to see items or enemies obscured from the existing world. A snippet of footage demonstrates the item's functionality in the new title. In an underground dungeon, a group of guard ghosts appears seemingly out of thin air. The display is accompanied by a recognizable sound effect. Interestingly, this new item also appears to make visible some kind of yellowish trail as it flows, shimmering, through the underground lair. We can only presume that this trail could be scent in visible form. We can't wait to see what kind of hidden extras and puzzle tie-ins this trademark tool may reveal in the new adventure.
2. Link Takes a Dive
One of the most common complaints about Wind Waker is that Link was unable to dive and swim underneath water. As a result, a Water Temple, which was perhaps one of the greatest dungeons in Ocarina of Time, was not included. That could be corrected in the new game. The latest trailer clearly follows Link as he swims first head above transparent water and then dips beneath it. The camera actually drops with the character as he dives downward, shimmering realistically with the sway of the liquid. Great news for Zelda fans who loved the swimming mechanic in previous games, as we did. But even better are the possibilities, including a brand new Water Temple and maybe even Link's stylish iron boots.
1. Link the Beast Master
If there's one certainty, it's that animals play a big part in the new Legend of Zelda game. In the first released trailer, Link played with dogs and rode a horse. In the new trailer, he pets and picks up cats and rides a razorbacked boar. More intriguing still, a mysterious wolf appears in front of an ominous moon at the end of the latest teaser. Can Link command animals in this new game? Or might the character be able to change into them? There's even a rumor going around that Link's horse is able to transform into the boar and wolf. An examination of the video shows that both the horse and boar use the same gear. We won't know for sure for a couple of months, but it's clear already that a theme is in place.

Some funny hijacked low quality scans and info: http://www.thehawks.org/hawks/forum/index.php?topic=3451.0Quote:
- Link starts the game when he is 16 years and he'll age as the story progresses. - Controls have remained largly the same like in Ocarina of time and the Wind Waker. (WW) - The games' world is supposedly 2 to 3 times bigger than in Ocarina of Time. (OoT) - Horse battles are going to be a big part in the game. - Eiji Aonuma wants the graphical style of the game to be close to manga-style. - The Gorons will be there and several things point out that the Zora's will be there too. (I'll be interested to see if the birdlike creatures from the WW will make a return in this new Zelda adventure)
