Imagine, if you will, that the Inquisitor, an all-powerful android who survived to the end of time and is now coming back through history to weed out those individuals who have not lived a worthwhile life*, has descended among us and is seeking to determine which of us should be eliminated. You don't have to be Mother Teresa (which would be quite a trick, as she's dead) or a rich, important person to be considered worthwhile; any act which you performed which has made the world a better place will exempt you from erasure. So justify yourself. You have one hour.**
*I "borrowed" him from an episode of Red Dwarf. **OK, you don't really, you have as long as it takes you to post.

I can't justify myself....All I can say is, I am what I am for reasons that serve only myself and are the most efficient possible. The only way I can say I made the world any kind of better place is that I kept it moving along with the ideals I passed to whoever would listen. If it effected them in any way would become THEIR judgement AS WELL AS mine.
The said ideals are the kinds that help us better ourselves logically and make us more "out of the box" thinkers. I've tried to DESTROY CONFORMITY AND ETIQUETTE!!
And in the end, there will be no robot....Only myself....
.....Yeah...

Its funny you ask this question. A friend of my wife's yesterday said that until you improve humanity's lot (eg. through charity or medicine or something similar), your only purpose on the planet is to breed.
My view on my existence....I am here, indefinitely, as a kind of tourist. I can't assess my existence's value. That's enough for me.

I haven't done much of anything yet. But, I have been told that I am a positive role model to those younger, and older than myself. I guess the way I've dealt with all of the stuff I've been through over the last couple of years, maybe I'm worth something. I don't know. The important thing to remember is: shit happens, so deal with it. That's my motto, and I'm sticking to it. You would think that "what doesn't kill you makes you stonger." That's nonsense. If it doesn't kill you it will probably make you weaker, so you've got to fight to get back to where you were before. In a way, maybe it does make you stronger, but only if you're willing to fight to get your strength back. And even now, I'm not 100%. I don't know that I will ever be again. But I'm still here.

I have a natural gift to say things to people to improve or change their lives in some way. People use me as a conscience in many instances. People seek my council often. They trust in my judgement and listen to me in most cases. My life is pretty much a mess because I'm incapable of being happy apparently. But people generally realize that I'm brilliant at moderation and intervention. I can change people for the better if they listen in most cases, and have impacted many lives for the better. It's harder to impact your own though.
That may sound silly, but it's true. I think I'm here to help other people.

Actually, an argument can be made that anyone who engages in legal commerce is creating wealth for everyone at one level or another. Which improves humanity's lot.
One could also argue that, in certain situations, charity or medicine are actually bad for humanity in the long run.

I dont need to justify myself,if I get eradicated,I dont exist so I cant be hurt! If I dont get eradicated I just carry on as normal. Fact is I aint scared of dyin either, its gonna come to us all sooner or later (sooner in Llances case) so might as well just do what I do and not worry bout how I'm gonna end up!

Oh, sure, there are the counterintuitives concept that charity increases dependence and makes people weak: medicines allow the weak to live and perhaps suffer instead of dying: lawyers are net creators of wealth, as opposed to say social workers, and as a consequence of trickle down economics I'm actually keeping a lot of people employed.
Flipping it back again, charities and medicien help the weak get strong, and I could be doing something which improves the lot of people as well as generates trickle-down wealth (diplomacy or human rights law).
Its hard to measure you own worth when there are so many angles from which to look at it.

The worst part of being a cocky bastard is the nagging feeling in the back of my noggin that I was destined to make a difference. I honestly feel, at times, that I should be doing some incredible thing that will place my name in the history books... all caps.
I am also a lazy good-for-little, though, and, so far, long evenings of cable TV and free high-speed internet porn are kickin' greatness' ass.
