OK, from now on, everyone remembers Euro again, he is on La Perdita with Eddie, but not in the Complex, and has lost his wings.

Thanks, now you can return to your usual program.

Maybe it's best to wrap up the Aisling Prison plot before returning to the events on the island. That way we can all participate.

Great story, Euro -- I liked the way you used your Simon Rosetta idea. And the Odyssey theme throughout the story was a nice idea for a framework. The ending seemed a bit rushed, however.

OK, I've done it, since nobody else has bothered to write anything for nearly a week, and everyone seems extremely bored with the story right now. Time to tackle the Vanguard Complex problem now, I guess.

I haven't done a story since issue 6, as I haven't had any ideas for one until now. Would anyone mind if I start the next story? I figure it will pick up just as the team returns to the island and discovers that their headquarters is under attack. As far as I know, nobody's called the next story. But I'm adaptable. If someone else (Danny?) needs to reserve the next story for himself, I'll do the one right afterwards. Whatever works. I'd prefer to do it now, though, while the idea's still fresh. If this works, I'll post the first part later this week.

Oh, and if there is any last minute stuff at Aisling, feel free to do it now, before the Vanguardians get back into the Argo and return home. I think the stuff that Gooz set up should be tackled in the next story, not this one.

Well, as long as its not INSIDE my house(s) is all that matters...

Anyway, why not set your solo between last issue and the current one? There seems to be a gap of several months between the time the team got back from the Darkworld to the beginning of the current story. Seems like a logical place to put some solos.

Thanks TTT. Last post is rushed because I wanted to post the thing, and I wanted to fit it before the next story begins.

About next story, has been reserved by Danny. He want to do the thing he slated for issue 13, it's nearly a year, I think, he wants to do it.

OK, yeah, Danny did call this issue a long time ago, but I haven't heard anything from him since then. I'll wait to hear if he still wants it or not. If not, I'll start issue 17 at the end of the week.

If, however, Dan does still want to do issue 17, I call issue 18. It'll give me several more months (our usual summer pace) to work on my idea.

I wrapped up the subplot as per Gooz indication, I hope to have been able to respect his ideas in the short time I have available for posting.

As for next issue, I heard from Danny this morning, but ok, let him say what he want to do.

Euro, I edited your post slightly to say at the beginning: "Vanguard Complex, a few hours earlier" -- all the action at the Complex will have been long over by the time the team gets back to the island.

Also, Euro... the Sandcrawler isn't exactly like the Nightcrawler of the X-Men. Rather than being able to teleport himself (something he's not able to do at all... in my posts, anyway), he teleports objects, such as guns, walkie-talkies, and cigarettes. He can teleport bigger things (like telephone booths and cars), but it requires a lot of effort. He'd rather just 'port things he's comfortable with. When in doubt, remember that he can only teleport solid (not liquid or gas), non-living (no plants or animals) matter. I know that's gotta change your post some, but I think this qualifies as a fairly big discrepency.

Yes, I am going to change the post as soon as possible. I wrote the thing after talking with Gooz, then I went to bed and then it all came to my mind, but it was very late Nearly two in the morniung, and I had not the will to came back to edit the post.

As for the building, the soldier blew on the roof, so I think the building has been just slightly damage.

How Priest, Griss and Charley did survive the blow, is something I would like someone else find a way to explain.

I edited the post. Again, sorry for the misinterpretation of Grissom.

By the way, I edited out the reference to Priest, Grissom and Charley being still on the roof when the soldiers go boom.

They could, or could not be there. I leave that to who will follow.

One of the outcoming of Gooz's plot, that I have developed under his guideline, is that the company is bankrupt again, and they are currently without a CEO, being Miss X, although phisically unaffected by the violence of the intruders, emotionally shaken by what has been done to her lover Nuriko.

Waiting for any thing Gooz want to propose, I think we should elect a temporary CEO to replace Xiang until she will be fine again (unless we decide differently).

My idea would be having Grissom to step in that role: he has experience directing a company, and he is trusted by all of his teammates (a thing it couldn't be said for Xiang).

I asked Chewy, he suggesteds that it should a collective decision.

Any though?

My preference is for a character not "owned" by any poster. This is what I tried to do with Miss X, a character who was originally simply a name carried over from the old universe. I fleshed her out and made her distinct from her original prototype, Malvana, and made her "mysterious" so that her personality -- or lack thereof -- could be easily written by any writer. Some posters have used her in her function as a business administrator and fixer of bureaucratic problems, while other posters really hate her for some reason and are convinced she has some kind of evil hidden agenda. In the end, she was brought in to fill a void and to be a group-owned character that no one of us has control over.

If we go with another character, therefore, I don't think it should be a character closely connected with any one poster, as Grissom is with Chewy.

It might be time to simply ditch the idea of a "Maxwell Lord" type and go back to direct democracy, where the group makes its decisions collectively. Now that they're bankrupt -- for the second time, I might add -- it seems like a good time for the business end of things to wither away (not that it ever really existed except in prologues and epilogues) and for the team to simply do adventures as they come along. In practice we've been doing that already, so the pretense of the team being a "company" that I came up with in issue #6 might just be an idea whose time has passed. The team is already an adventure/superhero team -- we should just continue on that track and forget about the company/business side of it. Especially since the Vanguard Europe guys seem to have a pretty good handle on that. Van-Int'l are heroes, first and foremost, as much as I hate to admit it -- that's the way we've chosen to write them, and that's the way they work best. So let's concentrate on those strengths and thus concentrate on the team rather than the company/support staff/et cetera...

Very interestng points, TTT... could you post it also in the "Vanguard shake up" thread? That would greatly contribute to the discussion...

I share your same vision of Vanguard... we ARE doing superheroes right now, we would just need to shed away just the "company shell", and replacing it with a "founded organization" one. The founds could come from the government of La Perdita (and Vanguard would become a replacement of the PSi Unit); otherwise the founds could come from private benefactors...

As for the Company CEO, I was not proposing to replace X with Grissom forever... just in the emergency created by the attack to Vanguard... in fact, Kit Piper could also temporarly resume his old role, until X will be fine again... after all, a lot of time has passed since Kit tried to stole the Vanguard money to free her daughters.

One of the things I wanted to propose in my absence was for Sam to return, offer the team buckets of money (the shapeshifter has millions) so they could run the company how they see fit. Sam would not return to active duty (because as a hero/merk, he sucks).

This would bring the team back to the democratic idea, rather than having one head figure that "owns" them, so to speak.

As for Miss. X, I have hated her since Malvana in this universe and what happened with Danny. I can let Doc Q's role fade away because he was the "in the dark scientist" but with Miss. X running the company, seems shady.

So, does the team want Sam's money? No, he would not run the team, nor be a part of it.

I am for it. Any money that come for reliable source that wouldn't try to influence the team to do their dids, for me, is welcomed.

About Miss X, I understand the problem. I would prefer to see it explored in the stories. Like it was with Quantos, I think we should take in consideration WHAT has happened. The Revolutionaries HELPED Xiang, actually, when Euro saved her life in Mandelovia. And the plot of that story was that Quantos and X captured Danny because the Time Trust alerted them that Danny was posing a threat to the timestream, and was "cured" from that.

It's just a nice, good characterization that Danny hates her, like he should still not like a lot Quantos (exactly like he is not at ease near Priest). But her motivations were never mysterious.
