ASTONISHING X-MEN is excellent. Two issues in and it's perhaps the best mainstream super-hero comic out there. The art is exquisite and Joss's dialog, plotting, and characterizations--Scott's confusion, Kitty/Emma, Hank--are enthralling.

The only good thing about reading in TPB form is that you'll get to read the whole story at your leisure, but in the meantime, you'd be missing the best super-hero book out there (I'm not including the super-hero deconstruction that is SUPREME POWER, which is an equally enthralling story).
