I liked it. Well done.

And there's no reason to not use both exoskeleton and regeneration... he may not die from a gut wound, but it would still bloody hurt. Also, he may not be as lucky after a head wound or something. I dunno. I'm making this crap up as I go along.

Well, I guess that if he is killed, the regenerative powers would not be useful. So, an exoskeleton seems a must.

GAH!

Online right now? Must be late there, Chewy... or really early.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that Danny asked me beforehand for permission to kill Miss X, but I don't want Kit killed. I think it's probably time to get him out of the picture as far as the team goes, as he's kinda outlived his usefulness, but this must happen without his death. This is mostly for selfish reasons, I guess, because I don't want Kit's daughters to be complete orphans after their mother was killed. I think Kit would probably want to get away from the Complex for a while (and possibly off the island) after Miss X's murder. Really, most of the support staff would start wondering what they're doing there after something like that happened. A death, especially a murder, really brings things into sharp focus, y'know?

Ideally I'd like him to become one of those recurring characters who return every once in a while when they get into some trouble and need some help getting out of it.

I suggest, after the end of this story, to follow Mxy's suggestion of doing a serie of stories set on the island. The reason would be the UN dictat explained in the Christmast issue, the scope, like he said, to explore the island far beyond what we have done to today.

If the building is gonna to fall completely (I don't know if Gooz has still things to reveal about it, that needs it to stay at last partially up, or not), my idea would be that the Vanguardians would move to a big, Hollywood style villa on the sea; a few days ago, Sammitch pointed out that Phil, Leslie and Grissom are extraordinarly rich. Euro is, too, altough to a lesser degree. And Simon Templar, altough I am not sure, should be, too.
So, it seemed strange that they would like to live in an apartment complex, although reduced to fortress. I guess they would be acccostumed to better facilities.

Alternatively, what about an old fortress from the time of Spanish domination on the island? One of those bulky castles used as base for fighting pirates? I think it could be appropriate.

I prefer the former. With Vanguard Europe shaping up like a true professional firm, with a building where the heroes gather mostly for work, without living quarters, I think we should push the "family" aspect of this team (that was strongly present at the beginning of the serie). The reduced line-up should help this process, and the reason for which they are together could be simply the spirit of adventure-seeking that characterize people like Grissom, Templar and Euro.

...look, lots of granades, what do you expect?

I do kind of like Euro's idea though. An old Spanish fort would kick ass.

I also like the idea of the team's HQ being a place they meet, NOT a place they live.

The original idea of the "Friends"-inspired apartment building as proposed by Mxy was fun while it lasted, but once it became "The Complex" all the charm evaporated from the idea for me. It ceased to be a place for the team to live and became something more like a futuristic army garrison. Yecchh.

One major reason why it would be better if the individual Vanguardians lived in separate places -- the damn HQ has been attacked so many times over the last couple of years that you've gotta wonder why they haven't thought of spreading out across the island so as to take away the temptation for any one group to attack them all at once by attacking the place they all live.

So far I've never given Mason Templar an apartment at the Complex, and I never intend to. He's got his own villa on the island, and several other residences all around the world as required by his career as an "archaeologist/museum troubleshooter"-type.

No, but seriously it's cool.

Although I think the current HQ was cool.

I could see Brianna getting a penthouse. A very, very, very high penthouse...

I have no problem with the Complex, but if we start to bomb it from the inside, we must show the consequences.

What really would interest me is to show that these people are together not because of a job (that makes not much sense if many of them are so rich), but because they like each other, sharing a common passion for adventures.

Since we have shown or have hinted that they have complex and full personal lives, I guess many stories could be build like an "assignment" for the personal job of one of the characters, that is helped by the group, as friends, and not employer.

In any case, contrary to TTT, it's recreating the "friends" aspect of living together as a family that interest me most. It's what should set apart this team from Vanguard Europe (and the Strikeforce).

Does Hal know this? Most likely not. Besides, his blood may contain some sort of biological information concerning the technology that gives him his powers.

But if Hal's already accomplished his mission in the future, wouldn't Feldman piece together who's useful and who isn't? If so, would he incorporate that into Hal's instructions before sending him back in time? Or if he did that, would he know to do that in the future if Feldman had Hal overlook people he didn't see as important? Because if Feldman learned that he didn't need Phil's DNA, then he wouldn't send Hal back in time to get it - but by that time would he have found out yet?

See why I don't write time travel?

What about this: the heroes stop Danny. He is, either:

1)Killed (by Priest, appropriately enough)*
2)Captured, and operated by Quantos to eliminate Hal
3)Mentally challenged by Phil, resulting in the destuction of the Hal personality
4)Any other possible solution involving Danny NOT going to Autralian to be put in cryogenic stasis.

So, he can't return to the future, Feldman wouldn't know about him, so he couln't be lured in Mandelovia and sent back in time, he can't stumble upon Euro in 2001, and the Vanguardians NEVER GET FORMED!

It seems the outcome of this story is set in stone, after all.

That could means the Vanguardians will have to follow Danny in the future, to free him and stop Feldman...

*if Priest kills Danny, Danny will not become the evil dictator of Priest future, so Priest will not been send back in time, resulting in all the stories past issue 10 being erased from reality. But if he is not sent back in time, Danny will not be killed, he will become a dictator, and Priest will exist again... just to kill Danny again, in an infinite loop that would freeze the timestream.

Only TOMB could solve the case.

Hey, Phil... what Chewy said.

And I think I have an idea as to how this will all work out without resulting in a time loop... hopefully... Time travel stories are hard. My next character will be a robot squirrel.

You see a red X, Chewy? Weird. Your browser must be the culprit.

I see a computer-animated sheep done in a sort of Anime style, a PlayStation logo on the top right and a SysCom logo on the bottom right. The background is red at the top bleeding into pink by the bottom, and the sheep is standing on a green lawn. The perspective is strange, because the horizon is distorted to the point that it looks round rather than flat, and on the horizon can be something that looks like a train station on the left, and a couple of strange creatures next to a tree on the right. There's also a tiny green flying thing in the air, and a flying saucer at the top right just next to (and partly obscured by) the PlayStation logo. The "SHEEP" logo is capitalized, and is framed by a pink-and-white ring, the bottom part of which has some kind of Japanese lettering.
