St. Louis-AP -- A comic book artist should have chosen another name for one of his characters.

A violent New York mob boss character who appeared in "Spawn" comics a decade ago was named Tony Twist.

And now, former pro hockey player Tony Twist has successfully sued over it. A jury in St. Louis has awarded the former Blues player 15 (m) million dollars.

The jury concluded that the comic book artist, Tood McFarlane, had profited by using Twist's name without his permission -- infringing on Twist's publicity rights.

McFarlane insisted his use of the name was protected by the First Amendment.
