The jury concluded that the comic book artist, Tood McFarlane, had profited by using Twist's name without his permission -- infringing on Twist's publicity rights.
McFarlane insisted his use of the name was protected by the First Amendment.

Can I sue Neil Gaiman for naming a character Daniel Hall?
Thing is- I can’t spell or type. I spell so badly my spell check doesn’t even know what I was trying to spell. And I have five Eisners HAHAHAHHA!!

I thought the douche bags real name was Tony Twisterelli, the character was named Tony Twist and it was meant to be McFarlane giving a nod to the dude by naming a character after him cuz McFarlane loves hockey. I normally don't give a shit for anything McFarlane, but it sounds like this guys just being a dick.

i'd rather know what happened with the miracle/marvelman rights, or is that still up in the air? to me a comic book i'd like to read is more important than some numb nutted hockey player and his name rights.

DAVE, this is new news. Twist was originally awarded 24 million, and that was taken back. But now he's been awarded money again, this time 15.
And on a related note, I am currently planning my lawsuit against the estate of Charles Schultz. Woodstock? I'll fucking show them.
