Yao was solid tonight. He showed stuff Shaq would never have done in his rookie year. Ming Dynasty baby! [woooOOOOoooo!]

That was a fun game. Yao and Shaq both started so ferociously they were tired by the end of the first quarter, but still managed to put on a show. That flagrant foul call sucked, though.

On a sidenote, I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about censoring your language here. You can say "Fuck the Big Show!" like the rest of the world. [cool]

Yao Ming is indeed the man. A class act if there was ever such a thing. I'd like to see Franta try and bash him.

However, while Yao is great, tonight was clearly Steve Francis's night, I think he showed the world that he is still "the franchise". I thought Marbury lighting up my Mavs was going to be the best performance I'd see in a long time....then I switched channels.

What also intrigued me was how Phil Jackson not only left Shaq in down the stretch, but went to him, knowing that he'd be fouled and have to go to the line. Amazingly Shaq made his last four free throws, so obviously he knew something everyone else didn't.

And speaking of the big man, some of his throwdowns in the overtime were just sick. That double clutch fadeaway by Kobe Bryant was pretty insane too.

it still just looks so frickin weird to see yao on the court. he's an eleven foot tall asian -- how often does that happen?

still, he seems like a completely nice guy. very calm and, at worst, professional. when they asked him at the end of the game if shaq apologized, he just responded "thats a personal question" with no further info.

he's a good guy. a scary lookin good guy, but a good guy, none the less.

I agree. That was Franchise's game. He's finally starting to grow up and be a true point guard, instead of just passing to Cuttino and setting himself up for an alley-oop ALL THE TIME. That pass to Yao in the post was one of the best decisions I ever saw Stevie make.

And yeah that was a bullshit call against Shaq, but Kobe was getting away with so much in that game it didn't bother me.
