eh, i dont care. every year, at new years, every channel does a whole recap of what went on the past few months, and even some of that shit isn't too fresh on the brain.
sure, recapping 1998 and 1999 is a little less special, for nostalgia purposes, but... stuff from the early 90s is old school, and a lot of the topics had been forgotten. its a fun ride.

Even 1998 and 1999 can be nostalgic considering how fast pop culture changes these days. Look what happened in those years: the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Latin explosion, the teen pop explosion, Lauryn Hill, the Millennium, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, razor scooters, Star Wars Episode I, etc. Most of that stuff is no longer in the public eye.

I used to think Michael Ian Black was the funniest guy there, but as I watched more of the show I realized he only gets more and more annoyingly sarcastic the later into the decade they get.

i used to like him. i thought "the state" was frickin hilarious, and i'd watch it constantly. but ever since his cameos on "i love the 80s" i can't fucking stand the guy anymore.
it wouldn't be so bad if they only went to him once every, oh, 5-10 minutes. but instead, they try to cram him down our throats every 4 seconds, as if he was he was cock and we were rex!
but, most of all, its his sarcasm that bugs me. the fact that every thing he has ever said, any comment he has ever made, on the show has been sarcasm... it completely removes the funny.
