I don't know any Jordan Zombies by your definition, but I know a helluva lot of people who'd like to know about him and are thus allowing the stories to take over the real news. Casual observers who don't even follow basketball but want to know about Jordan. That goes back to that first point I made about his universality and place in Americana that appeared to offend you.
