That song was not in the film,the song that you are thinking of was Blaze of glory,not Wanted dead or alive!
I got both these films on DVD,and like you say,you can forget how much you love a film (I recently bought the Beverly Hills cop trilogy & felt the same).
Good thing about Young Guns was that both films were equally as good.
Its rare for sequels to match the the debut,but Young Guns II is one of those rarities!
