Keaton had already been doing serious dramatic work by that time, tough.

I'm a Jack Black fan, but this isn't meshing all that well with what I think would make a good Green Lantern film. Warners is really screwing themselves over by not allowing DC more input on the productions.

As far as Kyle goes, he's just what Hal was back in the 50's. It's a restarting of the GL mythology. Hal started a more sci-fi flavor with the Corps and space adventures. I think Emerald Twilight was meant to give Kyle a clean slate as well. And, really, he's been no worse written that Hal had been over the years. No Lantern was ever perfect, so I don't see why all the Hal fans (who had been noticeably missing for some time prior to him going insane) give the character such shit over not being the perfect GL.

And it's nice to have change every once in a while. Unless it's a mullet or Electric Blue Superman.
