Correct. But just to be very anal, Dream has appeared in an issue of JLA, post the end of the Sandman series, so it can happen in reverse.

No, no, silly attorney! I'm not "attacking" anything. I was merely asking three questions to help me better understand your stance on this issue. Psychologically, the advent of children can change a person's viewpoint on many things in life, as you can no doubt attest. It was only as I originally stated: just questions.

I wasn't using "attack" in a negative sense, don't worry.

Who the hell is Dr Moon when he's at home?

I hope to God those were metaphors.

Nope. Pretty accurate descriptions of their behaviour at this point in life. The younger one snuggles up to my chest and looks like a frog. The older one throws food on the floor, and probably her own poo, too, if we let her.

The writer mentioned something in an interview about Batman getting his just desserts: could it be that the World's Greatest Detective will mess it up?

They were trying to tie it in with the DC Universe, yeh.

I remember the ads for Sandman used to say "A horror tale set in the DC Universe'" or something.

I've always assumed that "Moon" is his real surname, but I have never seen his full name in print, anywhere. Not even Who's Who Update '87 #2, which says that he probably has no actual recognized medical degree (perhaps he went to Evil Medical School).

I thought I knew old DC villains pretty well from reading Who's Who as a kid. I missed the update, though. Is he an old Wonder Woman villain?

He's a Denny O'Neil villain. Meaning he has gone up against both Batman and Wonder Woman (back when Wonder Woman was being written by O'Neil), but he made his first appearance in a Batman story back in the early '70s (and his fashion sense has never changed since then).

Dr Moon worked briefly for Intergang during the "Dark Knight Over Metropolis" storyline at the Superman titles in 1990. He was gonna brainwash Catherine Grant (so she couldn't testify against Morgan Edge), but he realized she had no brain.

Do his pants hang low at the back, revealing plumber's crack?

I'm just curious as to the origin of his name.

He's Asian. It's his name. Maybe it just sounds cool, is all.

Perhaps it was inspired by the founder of the Moonies...?

Major Force is one of the less imaginative criminals around. He's the Nelson Muntz of supervillains.

Man, poor old Kyle. Getting people in his life offed left and right. I certainly hope they have him kill Major Force. If nothing else, this could be one of the reasons he backs off from being GL now that Hal's coming back (unfortunately)....

Heh.

Pro -- the, uh, "chronal distortion" of the timestream is getting fairly strong, now, so I can't say for certain, but I believe you will say something about LLance being your personal lord and savior or something like that? I dunno.

And then in a while someone else will write something about getting this damn thread back on topic, and then nobody will post for a while, and then someone will bring it back up to the top of the forum for a lark, even though everyone's talking about some other crappy book by then, and then some time from now Rob's board will crash (in the cataclysmic event that will come to be known as the "Great Crash" -- not to be confused with the "Great Crash II"), and most of the old topics, such as this one, will be lost forever. Ironically enough, though, because of my warning in this post, this thread will be one of the few that several posters decided to save before the "Great Crash"... It will also be one of the rare Internet threads to be preserved forever (after the final destruction of the Internet in 2012) due to Mxy having printed it all out on his computer to read on the bus on the way to school.

By the 23rd century a cult religion (called the Identitea Crisisians of the Holy Three) will have been built around this thread and a few others, and the unidentified individual known only as "The Time Trust" will be considered to be the Prophet who foretold the coming age, "Prometheus" will be enshrined as the Father, "LLance" will be enshrined as the Mother, and "Disco Steve" will be enshrined as the Son, with the individual known as "Dave" from the down under nether-regions of Australia serving the role of the Davil.

By the year 2970, Crisisanity will be the dominant world religion, although Mxyism will quickly catch on over much of the world, followed by the depraved "end times" enforced state religion known as the JQocracy, responsible in those dire times for a string of completely meaningless and pointless terrorist attacks involving explosive hush puppies and bellybutton lint.

Luckily the planet explodes shortly afterwards, the human race being survived only by a handful of esoteric shoe salespeople with a healthy fear of open flame.

I thought that couldn't get more redundant. And here I hoped Marz was bringing Major Force back for something original. In a GL/Guy Gardner: Warrior crossover, Major Force killed a friend of Guy's mom (a case of mistaken identity - hijinks ensued) and stuffed her in the fridge. At the end of the of the storyline Major Force kills Guy's brother (Militia), and after that Kyle and Guy catch him. So Kyle is gonna kill him for murdering Alex, but he decides he can't do it because he wants to be a hero. Guy, being a warrior instead of a hero, kills Major Force. He shoulda stayed dead then...

The Cult of the Great Shaitan, or Davil, or Iblis (Arabic إبليس ), or Enais, in Muslim mythology the counterpart of the Christian and Jewish Satan. He figures oftener in the Qur'an under the name Shaitan, Iblis being mentioned 11 times, whereas Shaitan appears in 87 passages. He is chief of the spirits of evil, and his personality is adapted to that of his Jewish prototype. Davil rebelled against Allah and was expelled from Paradise. The Koranic legend is that his fall was a punishment for his refusal to bow for Adam. Condemned to death he was afterwards respited till the judgment day (bosnian: sudnji dan) (Qur'an vii. 13).

Interesting. I had no idea that Gardner (THE Green Lan--...oh, never mind...) killed Major Force. Cool. Yeah, I wish he had stayed dead. Of course, if dead really meant dead in comics, then, the death of a character might actually have meaning and impact. Oh well...

On another note, LLance is my Lord's savior. It's true. Frank Lord....guy that lives down the road from me....he almost walked out in front of a truck. Luckily, a visiting LLance pushed him out of the way in time. Also, luckily, the truck was in park. Now, Lord is suing LLance for personal injury, and the like. Still, if it wasn't for old LLance....

Then, eyeballs pop out of his toaster. "I just wanted to make pop tarts!" Kyle exclaims as he wonders why he didn't kill Major Force the first time. Must all superheroes have the morality of Superman? Christ.

Has it occurred to anyone that Identity Crisis rips off Mxy's Max Adventure's strip in Bobo Comics?

"I have blinded you and now I will touch your private parts!"

I always knew that Mxy was cutting edge, but its a sad state of the affairs when a major publisher steals his ideas.
