Seriously, I get fucking mono, am stuck getting ready for finals week, and just plain don't have time to post in the main story, so you pick my character to make a joke of (screwing up all the work I'd been putting into his character lately) just because I'm not posting and you think it'd be cute? What the flying fuck is that?
Maybe I'm overreacting, but maybe you could have picked a slightly better time to dick around with my character?
Phil, this is the exact reason we do this... because you take everything so fucking seriously. If you didn't spend so much time being so self-centered with your character, we wouldn't find need to do this... or maybe it wouldn't bother you. I said it to you time and again when we were rooming together and I'll say it again:
You are not your character.
Phil Smith the person and Phil Smith the character are two different people. Believe me, I know.
Danny's joke was, essentially, a joke on how you take everything so completely seriously with Phil. How, whenever you write him, Phil is unbeatable. Just because you think your character has to be the coolest person alive who has all the answers to every question known to man with no weakness (as long as you're the one writing him), doesn't make it so.
Egocentric writing contributes nothing to the overall story and doesn't build team dynamics whatsoever. It makes your character look good. You wanna know why Pro, Doc, and Grimm are good writers? They let every character shine - not just their own. Yes, there's a time and a place for that... but not every friggin' post.
It was a joke, Phil. A fucking joke. And, if you feel so badly about it that you're going to throw a hissyfit about it on the talk threads, then you need to shit or get off the fucking pot. Your call.
