How do you know Pete's bats weren't corked? His just never broke. Since cork is used primarily by contact hitters, not power hitters like the myth goes, I'd bet if we sawed open 76 of Pete's bats we could find something.

There's proof that Sammy used a corked bat ONCE. His story has been proven that he's never used a corked bat for one of his 505 home runs. So you're whole "catching up to McGwire" mantra is shit.
But in your mind, proof isn't necessary. So I'm proclaiming that Pete Rose not only bet on every game he ever played in his life, starting in Little League, but he also used a corked bat. It's now up to you to prove me wrong, because you obviously believe a man is guilty once he's accused.

What happened to all the bats that "disappeared" from Wrigley field the night they found the first corked bat. Sammy is sly as a fox to not give away bats that are corked to restaraunt.
"Common sense"? We are using common sense when we say that if Sammy's broken hundreds of bats that weren't corked, it would stand to reason that he hasn't used corked bats before. It's not blind support, it's reason. What you two are doing is blind hatred.

"disappeared"=taken to the league office for inspection.

Wow, I've never actually needed to spell out a one line post before, but here goes: I understand perfectly what you said, but you don't realize how stupid it sounded. If you're so worried about getting caught using a corked bat, you wouldn't use it. It makes no difference whether you have one or a hundred. If you use a corked bat you take the chance of getting caught no matter what. Think about what you're saying and try to read what others are, if you can.

It's possible, though.
Selig's stepping down in a couple years anyways, I doubt he's thinking his job's in danger.

You know what PJP finds pretty funny.......for 8 years the President of the United States Bill Clinton lied and cheated on a daily basis. He went on TV and lied right to our faces on multiple occasions.......yet many of you probably never blinked an eye or gave a damn.
Now somebody who plays a game.......A GAME for crying out loud and cheated....and maybe lied is causing this uproar.
All I gotta say is he used a cork bat...proven when the bat cracked open... Now hes suspended and appealing an absolute fact. He had a corked bat whethter he knew it or not (Im purty shure he knew but I digress...). So how can he deny it? And if he gets suspended HE gets to pick his days of suspension? WOW! Who wouldn't love that? Oh Im suspended for 8days? Well just tack that on to my week vacation at the begining of August...
He's not appealing the fact that he used the bat. He's appealing the punishment.
Albert Belle not only lied about using a corked bat, but tried to fool inspectors by replacing it with another bat(the bat of a teammate, because, unlike Sammy, all of Albert Belle's bats were corked). On appeal, he only got 7 games. Right now Sammy is slated to get 8.
But is he wrong? Yes. He needs to accept the consequences. When a person is caught speeding some fines are $50 some are $100. Admit your mistake and take your punishment like a man Sammy!!!!! A fine example to the youths of America! No wonder those kids in the Powder Puff hazing are suing their school!!!!
