Comment: In the 1970's, female technicians who worked for major aerospace manufacturers were not allowed to solder the wires in rockets while they had their menstrual period. It was believed that the women's bodies gave off some sort of acidic gas/secretion during this time that would damage the wires or degrade the solder. (The wires were supposedly too small to be seen with the naked eye, and the technician wore special wedge-shaped goggles in order to see them.) Supposedly this was on a History Channel program from long ago that discussed the factors that could cause rockets to fail.
Has anybody heard of this odd policy? Is it legit?
