truthfully, i haven't heard from him in a year or two.
but last i heard, he was living in an apartment with his boyfriend. everyone knew why, but his family treated it, unphased, as a room mate. never anything more, never wanting to know anything more.
i just always found it odd how "at peace" everyone was with that decision. i mean, sure, there was probably a lot of unrest with the reactions, on both ends, but... otherwise, they were entirely and perfectly functioning.
they loved each other, shared holidays together, the couple would have dinner at my friends' parents' house, etc.
a very odd acceptance, that seemed to do everything but accept.
That kind of reminds me of my folks 10 years ago. They were afraid to say anything. I was afraid to say anything. We just all needed some time.
