The Nuggest did a nice pick up with Earl Boykins. And Kiki Vandeweghe says he expects Jon Barry to sign at the end of the week.

The Nuggets may actually NOT have the worst record this season.

I think Fortson is a liabilty at 7/$38mil. I lived in the Bay Area for years, and watching him play after the foot surgery, he wasn't the same player that averaged 16ppg and 16rpg for the first dozen or so games of the 2000 (or 2001) season. I'd love to see him make a comeback though.

He only has 4 years and just over $24 mil left, though, which isn't that much at all in today's NBA for a player of his caliber. If he can get back to where he was(which, after a year of sitting to heal, isn't a huge leap) he's a major steal.

There are a ton of players with injuries and bigger contracts(Grant Hill, Antonio McDyess, Tom Gugliotta, Michael Dickerson, Marcus Camby, etc). I too hope he can come back. I always loved his game.

Latest signings:

  • Kendall Gill with the Chicago Bulls
  • Jon Barry with the Denver Nuggets
  • Tony Massenburg with the Sacramento Kings(his 12th team, tying the all-time record)
  • Anthony Peeler with the Sacramento Kings
  • Travis Best with the Dallas Mavericks(I thought the Celtics had him...?)

Reggie Miller re-signed with the Indiana Pacers, to prove that some things are still right with the world, and took a not so subtle shot at Malone: "I didn't want to be like some other guys who jump on another team's bandwagon just to get a ring," Miller said.

Cue Bsams saying "He wasn't signed by the Lakers because they only want rapists on their team."

...only with poor spelling and grammar.

Well, it's been a busy offseason. The Detroit Pistons traded forward Clifford Robinson and guard Pepe Sanchez to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday for guard Bob Sura. And the Mavs signed Travis Best. That was a good pick up.

Tony Massenburg signed with the Kings, making them the 12th team he's singed with, tying him with Chucky Brown for being with the most teams in his career. And LeBron James signed with Sprite and PowerAde.

[nyah hah]

Is Powerade different from Gatorade? Because I heard Gatorade broke off negotiations...

Yeah, it is. I think PowerAde is a division of Gatorade, but their product has more caffeine in it. Thus, the "power" concept.

There might be some Andro in it to for all I know.
