"Are we there yet?"
Lykopis spun her head around. She had opted not to wear her normal fighting gear. Instead, she was dressed for an outdoor expedition--loose blouse, high boots, and dark kaki pants. Her knife's sheath was straped to her leg with leather banding. "Drake, come over here and stop me from killing Icarus!"
Drake came back, laughing. Lykopis was never intentionally humorous, but she had lightened up since the last mission. At least she had a little more respect for the other members. "I won't stop you."
Lykopis grinned and set the whetstone down. Icarus merely crossed his arms. "How are you going to fight a plauge of bugs with a blade anyways?"
Lykopis' bared grinned shrunk. "I have no clue, actually. I hide when I see a plague of locust."
Adem found this intersting. "You've seen these large masses of insects before?"
Lykopis nodded. "Locust swarms in the Middle East. Shortly after the Crusades. I arrived a tourist and after seventy years left a veteren." Her amused face disappeared. "The best thing you can do is hide in a tent and hope your camel is still there in the morning."
Icarus rolled his eyes. "Well that's comforting."
Lykopis looked at Drake. "I am no use against a swarm of insects. You need to fight them with technology."
Drake nodded. "Right. Lykopis, there's a university in Kiel with an extensive research lab."
Lykopis nodded. "You want me to see...if they want to talk to me?"
Drake smiled. "Don't break their kneecaps, please?"
