CJ : Two things....
1) I realize you may be trying to get into the more scientific aspects of how Ozzy's invulnerability works. And, I applaud that, as I tend to do it with others at times. However, Ozzy doesn't heal quickly. He just doesn't get physically injured. At all. Ever. Period. That's the crux of the character's abilities. Others are faster, stronger, smarter, etc. But, Ozzy's imperviousness is his "Juggernaut". His unique point.
Now, why does this happen, scientifically speaking? I don't know. And, again, that's the point. I simply don't really need to know at this point in the character's evolution. Why was he hurt in Darkworld? He wasn't. It's all psychological. And that is my fault, for not better explaining. I simply skipped over his recovery in the hospital to get him into the team quicker. One day soon, I'll be writing a solo that explains why he was in a coma for almost two months.
Why has he been known to blackout? Well, mainly that's from lack of atmosphere or an attack internally of some kind. His brain, being the thing that produces his invulnerability, is in essence, NOT invulnerable itself. Thus, when presented with a form of attack that his imperviousness is not prepared to handle, shuts down as a protective/defense mechanism.
It adapts. Adaptation is the key word.
I love how you write Ozzy. I want to see more of him written by your hand. However, I just wanted to emphasize what makes him tick, ability-wise.
2) The alien hypnotic language, and how you explained it was fucking brilliant! I mean, I aboslutely loved it, and am now intimidated by your imagination and ability to free-think along those lines. Hell yes, woman! More!
