They switched to France about half way through season one, then back to America (or Canada as it really was) in the first episode of season two! From memory, I seem to remember they switched back again in season 2 (or maybe 3), possibly after Tessa died or something!
I think they switched back & forward as the show was some sort of co-production between Canada & France!
