listen, i don't mean to jump on anyone. that's not what my question was about. i've been farting a lot tonight, and, frankly, the stench is starting to get to me.
but i don't care for the attitude toward middle easterners. since 9/11 it seems we've been looking for ways to villify (sp?) anyone who looks like the people who hurt us, and we're coming up with theories and thoughts right outta the same book as "Dark Africa" and "Manifest Destiny."
i personally know a lotta middle eastern men. you know where i know them from? the military. they came here, became citizens, and enlisted. they didn't join because the middle east is a place of evil, they did it because they wanted to give something back to the country that gave them opportunities they couldn't find in their own impoverished nation.
and they are some of the nicest gentlemen i've ever known.
these countries aren't evil. the islamic religion isn't evil or any less than christianity. oppression is evil. sexism is evil. abuse is evil. and so is ignorance.
