I guess I've just never really seen the Daily Show as a "news" show. I've always seen it as a satirical show, that shows primarily the most humorous recent events, simply to make fun of them. That's not to say it never has anything to contribute politically. As mentioned, Jon Stewart does a very good job with his guests, in what is often the most informative and insightful portion of the show. However, I've never watched the Daily Show to get my news. I watch it to laugh(which I do, a lot).

The O'Reily Factor actually tries to be a legitimate news show(with an obvious conservative spin, of course), doesn't it? Admittedly, I've only seen about five minutes of a few shows. If such is the case, I think comparing the two really serves no purpose.
