Yeah, but that's a horse of a different color, and a reason why I'm not criticizing Animalman. That facet for Animalman is so incredibly blatant that even I would realize the air of obviousness is so heavy that there's no room for comment. But I'm concentrating mainly on the Ruckas and Graysons, the ones who take it too far and are currently dominating comicbookdom right now.
I wouldn't call the case of Animal Man "a horse of a different color," as it is the exact same thing as Grayson's intention to make Nightwing bisexual, the only difference being that it's not only appropriate, but logical.
Pariah, you must explain the problem with Greg Rucka to me. What I've read of his (bit of Detective Comics, Elektra, couple of issues of Wonder Woman...) seemed ok to me.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Grant Morrison and Devin Grayson were both doing (or intending to do) the exact same thing (that is, putting their own beliefs/interests into a character), but Morrison's was logical and appropriate, while Grayson's is not only inappropriate, but immensely silly and pointless. Can you give some examples of this? My logical take on Wonder Woman would be that she's not only a warrior, but a feminist, so coming into man's world and seeing the oppression going on would piss her off to the point of trying to make things right. This was what Paul Dini did to a certain extent in that giant comic he did with Alex Ross.

What I mean is, I trust Grant Morrison immensely as writer. He's very good at what he does (IMO of course) and I trust that he wouldn't put his belief system where it didn't belong. It belonged in Animalman, so, good stuff, but I'm damn sure he would know that it wouldn't belong in Darkseid. This is opposed to Grayson who would pull that shit with ANY character.
So to sum it up:
Grant Morrison = Smart
Devin Grayson = Dumbshit
And just reiterrance, I know that you're basing your argument on principle, I'm just saying that the scenarios aren't compatible in terms of circumstance.

Oh she's definitely always been a feminist, but my point is that she's no Margaret Sanger (femi-nazi). While in the beginning, she thought of herself as superior to mortal men, she learned along the way that they were equals and she befriended a bunch and became a....Nicer person. Rucka, while using previous runs (Jiminez/Loeb/Perez/Messner) as plot devices during his own, has completely discounted the lack of aggression from Diana within said previous runs and has gone for full on borderline man.....Hurm, not exactly "hater", but she sure as hell hasn't shown much appreciation for their existence lately. It's like she forgot that she fights for life and not just rights. Anyway, he refuses to note that the recycled ideas he's using for his run speak against her being the way he's made her. He's using opposing ingredients to make his case.
He's just gone out of his way to make her a superlative of feminism and ignored elements that speak against it along the way. And I reitterate that those "elements" were used and made by previous writers to do almost the exact opposite of what he's doing.

JMS made Gwen Stacy a dirty slut. You sleep with a friends father that makes you a slut. I don't want to hear anyone defend it becaue it was only once.
