My theory.... and it's only a theory is that Bill did say nasty things to her, but it was mutual. So if they went to trial Bill would have all these recording of him being a perv wich would kill his ratings, but in the end she wouldn't get any money, so that way they would both lose. This way she gets the money and he gets to hide his perverted (though legal) hidden personallity.
