I didn't read issue 5 yet, but overall...it's a great book...for 1972. Seriously. When I was 8, I would have loved this book.
So far, Byrne's approach has been to do the DP in a more "silver age" style where the focus is less on character development.
He's getting a lot of flack for...
-introducing newbies to a rebooted classic team (Rita Farr is alive for the first time in 35 years, but it's not been a big deal in Byrne's book)
-his handling of Nudge and his complete lack of understanding about today's teenagers
-a four limbed ape 
-clunky dialog (some godawful stuff that really takes you right out of the story when you read it)
IMHO, the DP's always been a great concept. I supported the reboot all the way. I still do. But I want better than this. But I promised I'd give it the first two storyarcs before bailing.

BIRDS OF PREY #75 - I should have waited to read this. Now I know stuff about War Games out of sequence. Oh well. Not a big deal. I though this issue was a step down from the last few months. Some of it felt a little forced. Still, I like where it's going.

I went to another shop when I realized my shop didn't order WE3 #2. That pisses me off that they didn't order that. I mean, they order books like Small Gods and Singularity 7, but won't order WE3. It's such a fantastic story; Quitely and Morrison were born to work together.

I bought nothing but did go get the Wonder Woman & Hawkwoman JLA figures of e-bay.
Kind of gave up on Doom Patrol. I was tempted to buy Planetary but I'm making myself wait for the trade. What did people think of the DC Solo book? It was sold out where I shop & the Supergirl story sounded interesting.

Damn, I forgot about Solo. I'll try to get it this week. I didn't even know about it till it came out. Thought it was just another Catwoman book due to the cover. Then I read the description later on. Seems like a decent idea. Neat.
