Courtesy of early voting, I was finally able to exercise my right to vote for a president of the United States for the first time in my life today.

It was surprisingly hassle-free on all fronts. Finding parking was the most difficult part of the process, and it was ony a matter of minutes before someone left the polling place after voting and drove away, leaving me her spot. I brought a book and some lunch along with me, which kept me busy while waiting in line for a while. Best of all, I didn't experience any hassles with the voting equipment (although I wish I could be certain that a techie screw-up wouldn't fudge or alter my vote).

And, to top it off, my favorite local comic book store was near the polling station, so I stopped by after I was done and got some decent stuff.

All in all, it was a hassle free experience.

So who did you vote for?

Mayor McCheese, or Chewy Walrus?

But seriously, folks - I voted for Kerry.

I've been able to vote for a couple weeks now, I'm just so disgusted with both candidates I'm waiting to see if someone does something really stupid.

That got me thinking - for those of you who don't have the option of voting early, do you consider it to be unfair that some states can vote early and others can't, or is it no big deal? 'Cause I'm wondering if early voting should be done in all states, and become a permanent option.

As with all things, there are bound to be pros and cons to making such a change.

I don't like the idea of early voting. It gives people too much time to orchastrate voter fraud.

Oh, i've been here in the U.S. since I was a child. I however was born in Mexico and was a resident Alien up until 2001. After the 2000 election, I decided to finally stop procrastinating and go thru the citizenship process so I could vote. And I have voted already, just never in a Presidential election.

There's a lot of really bad, tasteless, "rascist" jokes I could make here(which are enormously popular in a certain state that happens to border Mexico), but I'll settle for just hinting at them....

Could've, but I wanted to vote early. I'm hoping to be part of an ushering service to drive people in less fortunate neighborhoods such as Little Haiti to voting sites on Tuesday.

Are you sure you want to do that? polls have show in the past that Haitians lean towards Bush.

You say it, so it must be true.

Of course, those unfortunate neighborhoods also include several Cuban neighborhoods and Cubans tend to vote Republican. And, yeah, I'll be helping out there too, since yo hablo espanol.

Meanwhile, Bush is good for the rich and poor alike.

Married life is damn good.......I've been very busy with home renovations but what has really kept me from the boards are two herniated discs in my back that have been knocking me out of action.......I had a cortisone epidural shot this past week and that seems to be helping alot. How have you been?

I'm...surviving somehow. I've been job hunting for quite some time, and all my leads fizzle out with no success. I have a part time job teaching at a religious school, which pays good money, but it's hardly enough to earn a living. I've also been duking it out with the longest period of depression I can recall, due to a lack of a social life of any kind (I'm starting to wonder if I have a case of clinical depression.)

I hope you feel better soon. Glad to hear all else is well.
