That's just a function of the writing. There's a guy flying with wings on his arms and he uses a sword. People are going to write that. I think we all just willingly overlooked the difficulty of that to try to write something cool. It never bothered me.

That was largely me. heh. What's Hawkman without a mace? Especially the post-Ladnikia Raptor, who I saw as, much like Hawkman does, using different weapons for different jobs.
