Wish I could do that. I'm lucky if I can avoid crashing a computer whilst drunk, let alone actually posting anything.

For my next post, I intend to not actually use Tommy at all. Not 'cos I'm lazy and can't be bothered to write him, but because I want to flex what I've learnt about the other characters.

Maybe you should post with Tommy so that the rest of us can get a feel for writing him...

Almost missed this.

Thanks. I don't know how I want to bring him in yet. I have a couple of ideas, but don't know how people would react to them.

Let me put it out here, now.

Sitting around last night, I came up with the idea to have Nimrod attacking each team in turn, with the two groups coming together to hunt him down. I even started mixing and matching the two groups into smaller groups that I'd like to see. (Yes, I have too much free time right now.)

That said, I did not want to write the first meeting of the two groups by myself. I don't want to take that away from the people who'd be interested in that.

But, I also know that not everyone will be automatically interested in writing together or will have time to do so.

But, basically to write together, this will have to be a structured story with me writing the beginning and ending chapters. With other writers paired off into subgroups in the middle chapters. And when it got these sections, people would have to actually post. I'm thinking of it like say, if Lykopis, Adem, and Grissom teamed up, their writers would then write out that chapter until it was done. Just as an example. Then the next group, etc.

Because otherwise, I'm just going to do the whole damn thing myself and people can deal with it.

I am interested in the story, and agree over the structured format with the smaller group. About the first meeting, I don't know why this couldn't be that, but I don't think there will pass a lot of time before that happen.

While I am not interested into it myself (what appeal me most is the Hunter concept, not the two team meeting) it seems to me that other posters are interested to write about such meeting (maybe it's just my impression?).

So, I am for it, whatever way you want to choose. And if you end writing it as a solo, after reading the Siege, i would be for it, too.

Very close. Actually, that's probably the best summary of Tommy there could be, so thanks, Prom. But if people want to post with Tommy, that's fine. I'll get to it.

On the matter of a Vanguard/VE crossover, that sounds really interesting, if only as an excuse to see how they react to each other. I'd love to see how Icarus would get on with the La Perditans. On the matter of mini-groups, it'd be interesting to team Rama and Edmund Gaunt up, just from a newbie's point of view...

That reminds me, actually. On the matter of the Vanguard Files, I've been trying to figure out who's who. I've got most of them, but I'm stuck on a few, namely Thunderbird, Banshee, Rama Avatar, Gaunt and Nimrod. Who're the pictures actually of?

Thunderbird - Jean Reno, who many of us have always seen as Eurostar.
Banshee - Jessica Biel
Rama Avatar - Kabir Bedi
Nimrod - Robert Patrick (who rules, incidentally)

Not sure about Gaunt, though. Grimmers?

Should've guessed

Posted to Oktoberfest. Hopefully it's good for people getting to know Tommy. I've written Adem as a fairly quiet type, I hope that's alright. And I'm stepping back from introducing Tommy to the other members of Vanguard. I feel that I'd like others to define Tommy's role in the team, I don't want to barge in and accidentally muck things up.

It pretty much goes from moment to moment. Adem's wordiness depends on the situation he's in and what he wants to acheive.

Ben Cross. He was Barnabas Collins in the nineties relaunch of Dark Shadows and Malagant in First Knight, among other things.

Spandex, Gaunt is actually the quiet one of the group.

That's good to know. I'll admit that I was kinda nervous when it came to writing Adem, so I was very cautious during that post. I'm sure I'll figure him out eventually, though.

Agreed.

However, I'm beginning to think you just create characters for their ability to yield cool fight scenes. Am I getting warm?

Don't worry, there's other interesting things about Reilly. Maybe. If I can be bothered.

Victor Daniel Reilley?

Loving it, Danny. Glad to see you back in the game. Also, you nailed Ian with one post. Bravo.

I'll get back into the game tomorrow, probably. I've been working on a small solo for Ozzy that will connect the missing twenty-four hours between his last scene at the MRC, and, when he suddenly joins up with Guant and Adem in Issue #2. Should be done by tomorrow, as well...

You make a solid point, Pro. Reilly and the Squirrel are pretty much the only two characters I've written to not be named Daniel. And thanks for the kind words.

I love writing Ian. If I had my Kampy voting to do over again, he'd be my favourite supporting character. I shall do more McGregor centric posts in the near future.

I like the look of Vic, Danny. has to be up there with Robo-Squirrel on the list of intriguing characters.

Posted to Oktoberfest again. Intro'd Tommy to Drake, and did some Drake work. I know Tommy comes across as hero-worshippy, but I don't anticipate him being that way for long. Feel free to write them differently if you don't like this.

What does Reilly look like?

Had a little fun with Penny.

Little bit of intrigue with Drake and Gaunt. Man, I wish Notwedge were around.

You know what? I never got around to posting a description of Reilly 'cause I have no damn idea what he looks like. The current plan is to do the physical description when I introduce him to the rest of the team.

While they're all off getting drunk, I'll probably keep doing these little interludes with Reilly and McGregor. Because they amuse me. And it allows me to build Reilly's personality a little bit at a time.

Well, I hope he will.

Alright, he'll probably act like a drunken lout. But hey, nobody's perfect.

When I read your post about him, I pictured him as a young Lance Henriksen.

Of course, the fact that I just saw Profile for Murder last night might have something to do with that as well...
